Qantas’s reported South Pacific and Hawaii fare sale is historical, not a current offer. In a PerthNow report published on 17 January 2024, fares were advertised from $529 return, with examples including Sydney–Fiji economy for $549 return and Perth–Honolulu premium economy for $3,199 return. The report described “thousands of seats” but did not give an exact count.

What fares did the report advertise?

PerthNow reported that Qantas had put thousands of seats on sale for South Pacific and Hawaii flights, with return fares starting at $529. The article said the sale included economy, premium economy and business class, but its examples do not show every cabin on every route.

Route Reported cabin Advertised return fare Connection detail
Sydney–Fiji Economy $549, as reported by PerthNow in 2024 Not stated in the report
Melbourne–New Caledonia Not stated in the report $579, as reported by PerthNow in 2024 Not stated in the report
Perth–Honolulu Premium economy $3,199, as reported by PerthNow in 2024 Perth travelers could book via Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney, according to the report; the example does not identify which connection applied

These are advertised examples from the report, not independently verified ticket prices. They are not a like-for-like cabin comparison, and the article does not provide a complete route list or full fare table. The report said travel was available between February and December but did not specify the year for that window.

Is the sale still available?

No. The South Pacific and Hawaii fares belong to the sale covered by the January 2024 report. As of 8 October 2026, Qantas’s promotions page showed a different offer, a 72-Hour Northern Territory Sale ending that day. That separate promotion listed one-way Economy fares from Adelaide starting at A$199 to Alice Springs and A$229 to Darwin; those prices are unrelated to the historical sale. Check Qantas’s current promotions for offers that may apply to a new booking.

What details did the report leave open?

The available PerthNow article does not state the booking deadline, the exact travel-year dates, full fare conditions, the complete route list or the precise number of seats. It describes the sale as covering “thousands of seats,” without an exact count. The current promotions page does not establish those historical details.

For a present-day booking, Qantas says fare availability can depend on selected dates and flights and advises customers to check fare rules. Its flight-deals page is relevant for current fares, not evidence of the old sale’s terms.

Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
