Pure Storage is now Everpure. The company changed its corporate brand on March 5, 2026, later changed its NYSE ticker from PSTG to P, and completed its acquisition of data-intelligence company 1touch on May 11, 2026.
This is not a new company or a merger of equals. It is the existing Pure Storage business repositioning itself beyond enterprise storage toward data management, data intelligence, and what it calls AI-ready data. For shareholders, the ticker changed but the issuer and CUSIP remained unchanged. For customers, Everpure says the rebrand itself did not change existing contracts, SKUs, or commercial terms.

What changed?
Three changes matter:
- Corporate brand: Pure Storage became Everpure.
- Stock-market identity: The company initially said the PSTG ticker would remain unchanged, but later announced a move to P. Trading under the new symbol was expected to begin April 17, 2026.
- Strategic scope: Everpure is expanding its positioning from enterprise storage infrastructure to broader data management and data intelligence.
The company’s existing products did not automatically become different products because of the name change. FlashArray, FlashBlade, Portworx, Evergreen//One, Pure1, and related services should be evaluated according to their current documentation, licensing, and availability—not simply by the new corporate branding.

Why did Pure Storage choose Everpure?
Everpure says the name reflects its evolution from reshaping storage to defining data management. The branding also connects with the company’s existing Evergreen architecture and subscription model.
The company is presenting an Enterprise Data Cloud as the center of its strategy. Everpure describes this as a unified data environment governed through an intelligent control plane, with policy-based management of data location, protection, accessibility, and use.
That positioning is broader than traditional storage messaging. A conventional storage discussion focuses on capacity, performance, availability, replication, and administration. The Enterprise Data Cloud framing adds questions such as:
- Where is data located?
- What kind of data is it?
- How sensitive or business-critical is it?
- How is it protected and governed?
- Can it be accessed by analytics and AI applications?
“AI-ready” remains a strategic claim, not a guarantee that a customer’s data automatically becomes suitable for artificial intelligence. Data still needs appropriate quality, permissions, classification, governance, security, and integration with the customer’s chosen tools.

What 1touch adds
Everpure describes 1touch as a data-intelligence and orchestration company. The capabilities cited after the acquisition include:
- Data discovery: Finding data across systems and environments.
- Classification: Categorizing data, including potentially sensitive, regulated, redundant, or business-critical information.
- Semantic context: Adding meaning and relationships to datasets rather than treating data as undifferentiated files or objects.
- Orchestration: Applying policies or actions across a distributed data estate.
- Data security posture management: Identifying security risks associated with data environments.
The strategic logic is straightforward: storage systems understand where data resides and how it is protected, while data-intelligence tools can help identify what that data is, how it relates to other information, and how it should be governed.
However, the public announcements do not establish the complete product packaging, pricing, connector list, licensing boundaries, or general-availability date for every integrated capability. Buyers should not assume that every 1touch function is immediately available to every Everpure customer or included in an existing contract.

What changes for customers?
Everpure’s customer FAQ says the legal-name transition did not change existing contracts, SKUs, or commercial terms. The company also said support, documentation, training, and access paths would transition in phases, with redirects intended to limit disruption. Read the customer FAQ.

Existing Pure Storage arrays and software do not become obsolete because of the rebrand. Organizations should nevertheless update their internal records and confirm:
- Vendor names on renewal documents and invoices.
- Vendor-master and procurement records.
- Support-portal URLs and account contacts.
- Product names in security, compliance, and asset-management systems.
- API, software, and documentation links.
- Whether newly integrated 1touch capabilities require a separate license or subscription.
The acquisition may broaden Everpure’s roadmap, but future plans should not be treated as contractual product commitments. Buyers should request written confirmation of availability, supported data sources, pricing, service levels, and migration requirements.
What shareholders should know
The ticker change was not a new listing or a change in ownership. Everpure said the NYSE listing and CUSIP would remain unchanged and that shareholders did not need to take action. The company’s current ticker is P, not PSTG, based on the announced April 17 transition.

Investors should separate three questions:
- Identity: The public company formerly known as Pure Storage is now Everpure.
- Strategy: Management is trying to expand from storage into data management and intelligence.
- Execution: The investment case depends on whether those capabilities become broadly available, commercially successful, interoperable, and profitable.
How significant is the move?
The rebrand alone is mainly a change in corporate identity. The 1touch acquisition makes the strategy more substantive because it adds capabilities that sit above storage hardware: discovery, classification, semantic context, orchestration, and DSPM.
If integrated effectively, the combination could help Everpure manage not only where data is stored, but also what the data is, how sensitive it is, and how it should be used. That could make the company more relevant to AI preparation, governance, and security discussions.
The risks are equally important. A broader platform may reduce tool sprawl but increase vendor concentration. A single control plane may improve visibility while making management-layer access controls more consequential. Integration could also produce overlapping products, changing licenses, renamed services, or delays in delivering promised functionality.
Questions enterprise buyers should ask
- Which 1touch-derived functions are generally available today?
- Are discovery, classification, semantic context, and DSPM included or separately priced?
- Which SaaS, public-cloud, on-premises, database, file, object, and edge sources are supported?
- Can the platform manage data stored on third-party infrastructure?
- Can customers create custom classifiers and policies?
- How are false positives and false negatives measured and handled?
- What remediation actions can be automated?
- Are audit logs, role-based access controls, encryption, and regional controls documented?
- What APIs and export options are available?
- What happens to existing agreements at renewal?
How Everpure fits against alternatives
Everpure is not automatically a replacement for every adjacent category. Buyers should compare the primary requirement:
Best Value
- [ Ultra-Large 28TB Capacity ] Store massive amounts of data with fewer drives—ideal for hyperscale storage, AI datasets, and backup systems.
- [ Enterprise 7200RPM Performance ] Optimized for consistent throughput and fast data access in demanding workloads.
- [ SATA 6.0Gb/s Interface ] Seamless compatibility with most desktop PCs, NAS, and enterprise server systems.
- [ Data Center Ready (24/7 Operation) ] Built for continuous operation with high workload ratings—perfect for RAID, NAS, and surveillance systems.
- Works for Desktop PC/Mac, RAID System, NAS Network Storage, CCTV DVR, Surveillance System
- Primary storage: Compare Everpure with NetApp, Dell Technologies, HPE, and IBM Storage on performance, protocols, availability, hybrid-cloud integration, support, and total cost.
- Backup and cyber recovery: Commvault and Veeam may be more direct comparisons when the main need is backup, recovery, or ransomware resilience.
- Data discovery and governance: Specialist vendors may offer broader vendor-neutral coverage, classification, regulatory reporting, or governance workflows.
- DSPM: A specialist security platform may be preferable if the organization needs deep coverage across many clouds and SaaS applications without adopting a storage vendor’s broader platform.
- AI-data infrastructure: Compare integrations with analytics platforms, vector search, model services, orchestration tools, and existing data pipelines—not just the marketing label “AI-ready.”
Everpure may be a poor fit for an organization that needs only low-cost backup, wants transparent self-service pricing, has no meaningful Everpure footprint, or requires a completely vendor-neutral security and governance layer. It may be more compelling for an existing Pure Storage customer seeking platform consolidation, provided the required capabilities are available and cover the organization’s data sources.
Bottom line
Pure Storage becoming Everpure is more than a name change, but it is not the creation of a new company. The company kept its corporate continuity, changed its trading symbol from PSTG to P, and completed the 1touch acquisition on May 11, 2026.
The strategic opportunity is to connect storage operations with data discovery, classification, context, security posture, and policy-driven management. Whether that becomes a meaningful platform advantage will depend on product availability, interoperability, licensing, coverage, and execution—not on the rebrand or “AI-ready” language alone.
