Public Mobile’s Canada-wide 10GB plan rose from $26 to $28 per 30-day service period after the $26 offer ended July 20, 2026. That is a $2 increase, not a blanket increase across every Public Mobile plan. For many customers, the bigger value question is whether to pay just $2 more for 35GB.
What changed in Public Mobile’s plans?
The $26 price for the Canada-wide 10GB 4G plan was advertised through July 20, 2026. It was listed at $28 after that date, according to iPhone in Canada’s July 21 report. Public Mobile’s live plans page is the place to check current availability and pricing; its lineup can change.
| Plan or comparison | Price per 30-day service period | Data and speed | What changed |
|---|---|---|---|
| Canada-wide plan | $26 before July 21, 2026; $28 afterward | 10GB at 4G speed | Up $2 from the offer that ended July 20 |
| Canada-wide plan | $30 at the latest available listing | 35GB at 4G speed | Current comparison; not established as part of this specific increase |
| Canada-wide plan | $35 at the latest available listing | 50GB at 5G speed | Current comparison; not established as part of this specific increase |
The evidence supports a price change to the 10GB offer, not the claim that every Public Mobile customer or plan became more expensive. The current public lineup and features are listed on Public Mobile’s plans page. Prices shown there may not include applicable taxes; check the checkout total for your province.
What Public Mobile plans were listed?
The lineup below reflects the official listing available around August 16–18, 2026, rather than a guarantee that every offer remains available. The Canada-U.S.-Mexico tiers were marked limited-time offers.

| Canada-U.S.-Mexico, limited-time offer | $45 | 125GB at 5G speed | Unlimited talk and text; 1,000 international minutes; 2% back in Public Points |
| Canada-U.S.-Mexico, limited-time offer | $50 | 175GB at 5G speed | Unlimited talk and text; 1,000 international minutes; 2% back in Public Points |
Public Points are a rewards feature, not an automatic reduction to the listed monthly price. Likewise, the Canada-U.S.-Mexico label is not enough to establish that every kind of use is covered: check the plan’s current details for eligible usage, calling destinations, coverage and fair-use conditions before relying on it abroad.
Is the $28 plan still good value?
For a customer who needs no more than 10GB and wants to keep the listed price below $30, it can still fit. But the $30 plan’s 35GB makes the $28 tier hard to justify for anyone who regularly uses more than 10GB or wants a large data cushion.

| Plan | Listed price | Data | Simple price per included GB |
|---|---|---|---|
| Canada-wide 4G | $24 | 5GB | $4.80 |
| Canada-wide 4G | $28 | 10GB | $2.80 |
| Canada-wide 4G | $30 | 35GB | About $0.86 |
| Canada-wide 5G | $35 | 50GB | $0.70 |
These are arithmetic comparisons using the listed monthly prices and data allowances, not a complete value score. They do not account for your usage, taxes, network coverage, speed, roaming, international calling or plan conditions. The $30 option costs $2 more than the $28 plan and adds 25GB; it is the stronger fit for frequent hotspot use, video streaming or anyone who does not want to watch data closely.
Who should consider each option?
- $24 for 5GB: Consider it if you generally use 5GB or less, want the least expensive plan with data, and are comfortable monitoring usage. It does not include U.S. or Mexico service.
- $28 for 10GB: It may suit you if your typical use falls between 5GB and 10GB, staying below $30 matters, and you do not need 5G or cross-border service.
- $30 for 35GB: Consider it if you often exceed 10GB, use hotspot data or stream video, or want a larger buffer while staying with a Canada-wide plan.
- $35 for 50GB at 5G speed: Consider it if you want a larger allowance and 5G access where your device and location support it, but do not need U.S. or Mexico service.
- Canada-U.S.-Mexico tiers: Compare them if you travel among those countries and need service outside Canada. Check whether the international-minute allowance suits your calls and whether the plan’s usage terms match your travel needs.
Will existing customers pay more?
A public price change does not establish that every existing customer was automatically moved from $26 to $28. The available reporting does not confirm a universal migration of legacy subscribers. Check your account and renewal notice for your own price and plan.

Public Mobile’s March 2026 service terms say current rates and conditions are posted on the plans page and that the current rate applies when a customer changes rate plans. An account may have a grandfathered or account-specific offer that is not represented by the public listing; switching away may mean losing access to it. Confirm what is available to your account before making a change.
What to check before switching or signing up
- Record your current plan. In the Public Mobile app or account portal, note the plan name, price, data allowance and renewal date.
- Check account eligibility. Confirm that the plan you want is available to your account; a public listing does not guarantee that every existing subscriber can select every offer.
- Compare the complete plan details. Check data speed, coverage geography, international minutes, roaming conditions and other features—not only the data amount.
- Ask what happens to your current plan. Before confirming a change, find out whether it will end a grandfathered or promotional plan and when the new plan takes effect.
- Check the amount charged. Verify applicable taxes and the final checkout total rather than treating the displayed price as an after-tax amount.
- Check your device and coverage. Confirm compatibility and test service expectations at home, work and places you visit often. A 5G plan does not guarantee 5G service everywhere; location, device and network conditions matter.
- Save the confirmation. Keep a screenshot or confirmation message showing the plan and its terms.
- Protect your number when switching carriers. If you are porting your number, do not cancel the old service before the transfer completes.
Public Mobile is a subscription-style, bring-your-own-phone service managed primarily through its website and app. Its terms define a service month as a 30-day period tied to plan purchase or renewal, not necessarily a calendar month; see the Public Mobile Terms of Service. A missed renewal can affect service, and the terms warn that service lapses can lead to account closure and loss of a phone number, so check your payment and renewal arrangements.

Should you wait for another offer?
Public Mobile’s lineup has changed frequently, including data increases at some prices and limited-time plans that can appear or disappear. A PlanHub community discussion describes recent data changes, while iPhone in Canada reported on July 2, 2026 on promotional expiry timing. That history makes checking the live offer worthwhile, but it does not establish that a better deal is coming. If your current plan meets your needs, you do not have to switch just because the public lineup changed.
