The launch announcement described three service areas and reported more than 2,500 workers and more than 350 client organizations—figures from 2020, not current totals. Tegria’s ownership and portfolio have since changed: Altaris completed its acquisition from Providence St. Joseph Health on January 2, 2026.
Why Providence formed Tegria
Providence presented Tegria as a way to make technologies and services developed or acquired within Providence available to other healthcare organizations. The health system said the company could share expertise built in areas such as technology services for rural hospitals and clinics. That was Providence’s stated rationale for the formation, not evidence that the new structure independently improved patient outcomes or operating performance.
At launch, Providence president and CEO Rod Hochman said: “By making these services and solutions available to other health care organizations, we can support their strategies for improving the health of their local communities.”
What the nine launch businesses did
The October 2020 announcement grouped the nine operating companies into three areas. The names and allocations below describe the launch-era portfolio; they should not be read as a current company directory.

| Launch area | Businesses named in 2020 |
|---|---|
| Consulting and technology services | Bluetree; Engage IT Services; Navin, Haffty & Associates; Community Technologies |
| Revenue-cycle management | MediRevv; Acclara Solutions; Medical Specialties Managers |
| Software technology and platforms | QuiviQ; Lumedic |
Revenue-cycle management refers to services and systems involved in healthcare organizations’ billing and payment processes. Providence’s launch material identified the business areas but did not establish that combining them produced specific financial or operational gains.
What the launch figures mean
Tegria and Providence reported more than 2,500 strategists, technologists, service providers and scientists, and more than 350 organizations served across North America. Those were company-reported figures in the October 2020 launch announcement. They were not independently verified and should not be presented as Tegria’s current staffing or customer totals.

How the company changed after launch
The original lineup and ownership did not remain unchanged. Providence’s later disclosures record several portfolio changes before the ownership transition:
- In January 2024, Acclara and Advata were sold to R1.
- In October 2025, Community Technologies-related contracts and personnel transitioned back to Providence.
- In January 2026, Tegria Services Group and subsidiaries were divested to Altaris.
Tegria announced on January 6, 2026, that Altaris had completed its acquisition from Providence St. Joseph Health on January 2. The announcement said Tegria would continue as a preferred technology services partner to Providence. That establishes a continuing business relationship, not continued Providence ownership.

Tegria at launch versus the 2026 transition
| Factor | Launch announcement, October 2020 | Position established in January 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| Ownership | Providence announced the company as a combination of businesses developed or acquired within its health system. | Altaris completed its acquisition from Providence St. Joseph Health on January 2, 2026. |
| Portfolio | Nine operating companies across consulting and technology services, revenue-cycle management, and software and platforms. | Portfolio changes included the 2024 sale of Acclara and Advata, the October 2025 return of Community Technologies-related contracts and personnel to Providence, and the 2026 divestiture of Tegria Services Group and subsidiaries to Altaris. The available disclosures do not establish the current status of every launch-era business. |
| Scale figures | More than 2,500 workers and more than 350 client organizations, as reported by the company at launch. | These launch-era figures do not establish current staffing or customer totals. |
| Relationship with Providence | Providence described making its services and technologies available to other healthcare organizations. | Tegria said it would remain a preferred technology services partner to Providence after the acquisition. |
The central distinction is between a Providence-created portfolio announced in 2020 and a later, separately owned company whose business lineup had already shifted. The available announcements document corporate structure and stated intentions; they do not independently establish outcomes attributable to the combination.
