Priya Saiprasad is the co-founder and a general partner of Touring Capital, an investment firm focused on AI software. Her career has moved through venture investing, enterprise technology and M&A; her public conversations range from how investors support founders to the challenges of building and scaling AI companies. The interviews below are separate conversations published by different shows, not one confirmed series.

Who is Priya Saiprasad?

Touring Capital’s team profile describes Saiprasad as the firm’s co-founder and general partner. The firm says she joined it after 13 years working across venture capital, mergers and acquisitions, and enterprise technology.

Before founding Touring, she was a partner at SoftBank Vision Fund, where she led investments in companies including Pixis, Vendr, Observe.ai, CommerceIQ, Sendoso and Skedulo. Earlier, she worked at Mayfield Fund and was a founding member of M12, Microsoft’s venture fund. Touring says she led investments there in Go1, Workboard, PandaDoc, Element AI and Bonsai. Her earlier career included working as a deal lead on Square’s M&A team, on acquisitions involving software and machine learning. She earned a B.S. in Business Administration from UC Berkeley Haas and was named to Forbes’ 2018 30 Under 30 in Venture Capital list, according to Touring’s biography.

What does Touring Capital focus on?

Touring Capital describes its sector as AI software and says it invests in software companies using AI to supercharge the workforce. Its website lists Saiprasad as a general partner and describes the firm’s operating pillars as “Authentic Intelligence,” “Extend Possibilities” and “Steadfast Excellence.” These are the firm’s own descriptions of its approach, not independent assessments of its results.

Saiprasad’s emphasis on AI is consistent with the view she shared in a Fall 2023 UC Berkeley Haas profile: “Advancements in AI have been happening over the last decade and now they’re finally at a precipice of reaching massive scale and adoption.” The statement frames AI as a shift reaching broader adoption, rather than a technology that appeared suddenly.

What is Saiprasad’s stated approach to venture capital?

In the Haas profile, Saiprasad says she has “many thoughts on how to solve for the systemic biases that exist in venture, how to create a firm that’s founder-first, and how to leverage advancements in AI for the next generation of software productivity.” The profile also quotes her on a practical test of founder-friendly behavior: “You know if a VC is founder-friendly based on how they react when times get tough in the company.”

That distinction matters because support is easiest to claim when a company is performing well. Her stated standard focuses instead on investor conduct during difficult periods. The interviews provide additional context on the questions behind that view—how investors learn from unsuccessful investments, develop the skills to help founders whose challenges they have not personally faced, and navigate competition and prestige.

The Haas profile says Saiprasad lived in 12 countries as a child and quotes her describing the perspectives she brings as including those of Millennials, women, entrepreneurship and a global outlook. That biographical context is one part of her own account of how perspective can inform investing; it does not, by itself, establish a particular investment outcome.

Where to hear Saiprasad discuss her work

Several shows have published conversations with Saiprasad. They differ in date, audience and subject, so they are best understood as distinct interviews rather than installments in a single established series.

Show and date What the listing says the conversation covers
Desi VC, episode listing Her route into venture, surprises and insecurities as an investor, lessons from investments that have not worked out, assisting founders, personal influences on investment decisions, competition, prestige and advice to her younger self. The listing includes timestamps and informal question wording; those questions are not transcript quotations from Saiprasad. Episode listing
Women in Venture Capital, March 20, 2024 Her move into venture, lessons from mid- to growth-stage investing, starting Touring Capital, its AI-enabled software focus, gender dynamics in the industry and advice to aspiring investors, including the idea of creating a personal board of directors. Episode listing
The Scaleup Flight, January 5, 2026 Technology moats in AI, capital efficiency, talent decisions, go-to-market defensibility, board dynamics and choosing investors. The listing describes Touring as a $330 million early-growth fund; that amount is the podcast listing’s figure, not an independently verified fund announcement. Episode listing

What founders and aspiring investors can take from these conversations

For founders choosing investors

Saiprasad’s public remarks suggest a useful question for founders to ask prospective investors: how do they behave when a company is under pressure? The Haas profile presents this as her test of founder-friendliness. The Scaleup Flight listing adds that her 2026 conversation addresses board dynamics and choosing investors, but the listing alone does not establish specific recommendations beyond those topics.

For aspiring investors

The Desi VC listing points to candid subjects often left out of polished career summaries: investor insecurity, decisions that did not work out, competition and prestige. The Women in Venture Capital listing places those questions in a career and industry context, including gender dynamics and building a personal board of directors. Taken together, the listings show the breadth of topics she has discussed; they should not be treated as verbatim statements beyond the quotations attributed to her in the Haas profile.

For readers following AI software

Touring’s stated focus connects AI with workforce productivity, while the 2026 Scaleup Flight listing highlights the company-building questions around that focus: defensibility, efficient use of capital, talent and go-to-market execution. The distinction is useful: a firm’s investment thesis describes what it seeks to back, while an episode topic indicates what a conversation covers; neither alone demonstrates how a particular portfolio company performs.
