As of October 12, 2026, NVIDIA has not announced another stock split. Its latest completed split was a 10-for-1 split in June 2024. The company has published no schedule, share-price trigger, or formula for a future split, so an exact date or ratio would be speculation—not a confirmed prediction.
What is a reasonable prediction for NVIDIA’s next split?
NVIDIA could choose to split its stock again, but the available official information does not establish when it might do so or what ratio it would use. The company has not announced an automatic threshold or recurring timetable. A forecast that names a specific date, share price, or split ratio therefore goes beyond what NVIDIA’s disclosures support.

The best evidence for a possible future split is the company’s stated reason for its 2024 action. NVIDIA said that after significant share-price appreciation, the split was intended to make ownership more accessible to employees and investors. That explains the 2024 decision; it is not a commitment to split again whenever the share price reaches a particular level. NVIDIA’s 2024 stock-split FAQ and its investor FAQ page describe the company’s published information.

| Action | Key dates | What the company disclosed |
|---|---|---|
| 10-for-1 forward split in 2024 | Announced in May 2024; additional shares distributed after market close on June 7; split-adjusted trading began June 10, 2024 | Each shareholder received nine additional shares for every share held. The company said the split was intended to make ownership more accessible after significant appreciation in its share price. |
| 4-for-1 forward split in 2021 | Announced in May 2021; split-adjusted trading began July 20, 2021 | Each shareholder received three additional shares for every share held. The board’s action was subject to stockholder approval. |
These dates and terms come from NVIDIA’s 2024 FAQ, 2021 FAQ, and 2021 announcement. Two historical ratios do not establish what a future board would choose.
How a stock split changes shares—and what it does not change
In a 10-for-1 forward split, each share becomes ten shares. A holder of one share receives nine additional shares; all else equal, the split-adjusted price per share is one-tenth of its pre-split level. The number of shares and per-share price change in opposite directions, leaving the holder’s proportional ownership and the total value of the holding unchanged solely as a result of the split.

NVIDIA’s FAQ says the 2024 split would not change the total value of a holder’s shares or dilute that holder’s proportionate interest. That mechanical adjustment does not prevent the market price from moving for other reasons, and a split by itself does not create value or predict future returns.
The split-related Form 8-K filed June 7, 2024 records a proportional increase in authorized common shares from 8.0 billion to 80.0 billion as part of a charter amendment. Authorized shares are the maximum number the company is permitted to issue under its charter; that figure is not the same as shares outstanding, or the shares currently held by shareholders.

How to tell an announcement from a prediction
A specific future split claim is not confirmed merely because it cites NVIDIA’s past actions or points to a rising share price. Look for a company announcement or filing that states the board’s decision and the relevant terms. Until then, a proposed date, ratio, or price trigger is speculation.
- Check NVIDIA’s investor-relations materials. Review the investor FAQ and company news for an announcement.
- Check SEC filings. NVIDIA’s SEC filings page links to regulatory filings. A filing may document a corporate action, but an index page alone is not a promise that an announcement will occur.
- Read the terms, not just the headline. A confirmed action should make clear the ratio, relevant approval conditions, distribution or effective dates, and when split-adjusted trading is expected to begin.
The status stated here is as of October 12, 2026. Because announcements can change the picture, readers checking later should consult NVIDIA’s current investor-relations materials and filings.

What shareholders should know if another split is announced
For the completed 2024 split, NVIDIA said brokers would adjust shareholder accounts and expected the additional shares to be visible by June 10. It advised shareholders to contact their broker if shares were delayed. The company also said it would not issue fractional shares in connection with that action and advised investors with fractional shares to consult their brokerage. Those were terms and instructions for the 2024 split; they should not be assumed to apply to any future action.
NVIDIA’s 2024 FAQ says the company cannot provide tax advice and recommends consulting a tax adviser about individual circumstances. Tax treatment depends on the investor’s situation and jurisdiction, so seek current professional guidance rather than relying on a general prediction article.
