The PPSC Veterinary Officer application deadline was March 28, 2024, so applications under that notice are closed. The Punjab Public Service Commission advertised 300 Group-A Veterinary Officer posts in the state’s Department of Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Dairy Development. A later PPSC-labeled notice says the written examination took place on December 8, 2024, and that provisional document scrutiny was announced in May 2025 for a total of 405 posts, including 105 new posts. That notice does not confirm final selection or appointments.
What the 2024 PPSC recruitment offered
The original recruitment was for 300 Veterinary Officer (Group-A) posts in the Government of Punjab’s Department of Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Dairy Development. The PPSC-labeled candidate instructions describe applications as online and say the recruitment followed requisitions from the department. The instructions are available in a PPSC-labeled candidate-instructions document.
The headline’s “till March 28” refers to the past closing date, not an open application opportunity. Scroll’s March 1, 2024 report gives March 28, 2024 as the deadline and directs applicants to apply through the PPSC website. See its 2024 recruitment summary.
Eligibility reported for applicants
Contemporaneous reporting described the main age requirement as 18 to 37 years, calculated as of January 1, 2024. Reported educational and professional requirements were a Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry from a university recognized by the Veterinary Council of India, and registration with the Punjab Veterinary Council.

Some categories had age relaxations, and reservation and fee rules depended on category. These are not blanket exceptions: anyone checking whether they met the 2024 rules should refer to the original candidate instructions for the precise conditions rather than rely on a short summary.
Application process and reported fees
Applications were online through the PPSC website. Scroll’s 2024 report described the process as opening the Veterinary Officer advertisement, completing the form, uploading documents, paying the applicable fee and submitting the application; applicants were advised to keep a printout.

The same report listed fee totals by category. Because it is a summary, use the original instructions for exact category wording and payment requirements.
| Reported fee total | Categories listed in Scroll’s March 1, 2024 report |
|---|---|
| ₹500 | Punjab EWS, PWD, ex-servicemen and LDESM categories listed in the report |
| ₹750 | SC/ST candidates of all states and Backward Classes of Punjab |
| ₹1,500 | Other categories |
What happened after applications closed
A later PPSC-labeled public notice dated May 15, 2025 says the competitive written examination was held on December 8, 2024. It then called provisionally shortlisted candidates for document scrutiny for a total of 405 posts: the original 300 plus 105 new posts. The notice states that shortlisting was provisional and that scrutiny could lead to cancellation of ineligible candidates’ candidature. Read the PPSC-labeled May 2025 notice.

Document scrutiny is a process stage, not proof that a candidate was finally selected or appointed. The notice establishes the exam date and provisional scrutiny stage; it does not establish the final result. For current recruitment or result information, check the PPSC website directly rather than treating the 2024 advertisement or 2025 scrutiny notice as an active vacancy announcement.
