No. The $60 million figure in the original headline does not match the latest dated result available: Powerball’s October 7, 2026 results report no jackpot winner and an estimated jackpot of $485 million. That figure applies to the October 7 result page; it should not be treated as a confirmed estimate for October 10. Check Powerball’s official site for the current advertised amount before buying a ticket.
When is the next Powerball drawing?
Powerball drawings are normally held Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time, according to the Powerball Media Center. October 8, 2026 is a Thursday, so the next scheduled drawing is Saturday, October 10. Ticket sales close before the drawing, but the cutoff is set by each selling jurisdiction; confirm it with your local lottery rather than assuming a nationwide deadline.
What does the advertised jackpot mean?
The advertised jackpot is the annuity amount, not a guaranteed cash payout. A jackpot winner in the United States may choose either 30 payments over 29 years or a one-time cash option. Both figures are before applicable taxes, and the cash option is a different amount from the advertised annuity. The advertised estimate can change because it depends partly on ticket sales and the annuity factor—the cost of securities used to fund the payments, which is affected by interest rates. How a Powerball ticket works—and what the odds mean
A standard $2 play consists of five white-ball numbers from 1 through 69 and one red Powerball number from 1 through 26, as described by the Powerball Media Center. Rules, pricing, and available features may differ by jurisdiction.

Where to buy a ticket and how to claim a prize
Powerball tickets are sold through participating U.S. lotteries. Official online sales are available only in some jurisdictions and are limited to residents of those jurisdictions. The ticket must be claimed in the jurisdiction where it was purchased. Cutoff times, claim procedures, and deadlines vary locally; Powerball says claim deadlines typically range from 90 days to one year, but the local lottery’s rules and the ticket control. Use the relevant state or jurisdiction lottery’s official site for current instructions. Powerball also cautions on its official homepage: “In the event of a discrepancy, the official drawing results shall prevail.”
