There is no verified, like-for-like ranking of the most-watched or most-loved ads of 2025 in the available evidence. This roundup instead highlights campaigns prominent in advertising coverage or recognized by Cannes Lions juries. An award signals a jury’s judgment in a named category—not proof of broad consumer popularity, recall, sales, or effectiveness.
How to read this list
“Popular” here means notable or award-recognized, not objectively most viewed. ADWEEK published a year-end “The 20 Best Ads of 2025” list; the campaigns below are drawn from 2025 Cannes Lions winner reports. Those are different selection bases, and this is a sourced shortlist rather than a definitive ranking.
Cannes Lions awarded work across categories including audio, outdoor, film, strategy, effectiveness, experience, innovation, commerce, PR, and social. A Grand Prix is recognition in a particular category. It does not, on its own, establish that a campaign reached more people or performed better commercially than another.
Campaigns recognized at Cannes Lions 2025
AXA — Three Words
AXA’s French home-insurance contract added the words “and domestic violence.” Cannes Lions describes support and relocation for a victim who calls the emergency number. The work won the Direct, Creative Business Transformation, and Titanium Grand Prix awards. It stands out because the campaign was tied to a change in a service, not only to an advertising message. The mechanism described is specific to France; it should not be assumed to apply to AXA policies in other markets. Titanium Jury President Judy John said, “’Three Words’ can change the world.” Cannes Lions, 20 June 2025.

Dove — Real Beauty
Cannes Lions awarded Dove’s long-running Real Beauty platform Grand Prix recognition in both Glass: The Lion for Change and Creative Strategy. The award account describes it as a continuing point of view that generates campaign ideas. That is the festival’s rationale for the recognition, not independent verification of every impact claim associated with the platform. Cannes Lions, 20 June 2025.
Dove — Real Beauty Redefined for the AI Era
This separate Dove campaign partnered with Pinterest to address unrealistic beauty standards perpetuated by AI. According to Cannes Lions’ Media Lions report, the work changed how Pinterest’s algorithm showcases a broader spectrum of beauty. It is a platform-focused intervention rather than a conventional film spot. Cannes Lions, June 2025.
Budweiser — One Second Ads
The Audio & Radio Grand Prix winner used one-second audio snippets—the opening notes of recognizable songs—and invited fans to guess them on social media. The compact format makes the audience’s recognition part of the idea. Audio & Radio Jury President Xolisa Dyeshana called the campaign “exceptionally creative, insightful, and fresh.” Cannes Lions, 16 June 2025.
KitKat — Phone Break
For its Outdoor Grand Prix-winning work, KitKat placed its chocolate bars where phones would normally appear in familiar public scenes. The visual joke connected directly to the brand’s “Have a break, have a KitKat” line, making the idea legible at a glance. Cannes Lions, 16 June 2025.
Apple — Shot on iPhone
Apple’s long-running Shot on iPhone platform received the Creative Effectiveness Grand Prix. Cannes Lions describes it as a celebration of user-generated creativity. The award does not establish a particular return on investment or independently measured commercial result. Cannes Lions, 20 June 2025.
Caption with Intention — Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, FCB Chicago, and partners
This Brand Experience & Activation Grand Prix winner rethinks captions with animation, typography, and colour to improve the film experience for Deaf and hard-of-hearing people. Cannes Lions says the approach was incorporated into the Academy’s official Oscar submission rule book. Jury President Tara Ford described it as “an idea that will transform the experience of film and video in all its forms.” The award description estimates a worldwide audience of 433 million Deaf and hard-of-hearing people; that is an audience estimate, not a campaign reach figure. Cannes Lions, 20 June 2025.
Rank #3
Vaseline — Vaseline Verified
The Social & Creator Grand Prix recognized Vaseline’s response to misuse of petroleum jelly in social-media “hacks.” Cannes Lions describes a campaign that used creators and community to correct misinformation. Its distinguishing feature is how it addresses an existing stream of online content rather than relying only on a brand-led message. Cannes Lions, June 2025.
Natura — Amazon Greenventory
This SDG Lions Grand Prix used AI and drones to inventory trees in the Amazon, connecting technology with Natura’s cosmetics business and conservation aims. Cannes Lions reports that the project mapped 400 km² in six months and identified 30,000 trees with cosmetic potential; it also says Natura aims to preserve 3 million hectares by 2030. These are figures in the award report, not independently audited outcomes. Cannes Lions, 20 June 2025.

The Creative B2B Grand Prix-winning campaign used actor Walton Goggins and a fictional eyewear business to demonstrate GoDaddy Airo’s AI-powered tools for small businesses. Its humor provided a vehicle for showing the product in use. Cannes Lions, June 2025.
Rank #4
Indian Railways — Lucky Yatra
Rather than a conventional TV ad, this PR Grand Prix-winning campaign made rail tickets function as lottery tickets to encourage ticket purchasing. It turned an existing cultural association with luck into a service-design idea. Cannes Lions, June 2025.
LVMH — The Partnership That Changed Everything
The Luxury Grand Prix recognized LVMH’s role as a co-creator of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, including contributions from its maisons. This is a sponsorship and event-experience case: the Games took place in 2024, while the work received its award in 2025. Cannes Lions, 20 June 2025.
Ziploc — Preserved Promos
The Creative Commerce Grand Prix winner used a mobile commerce experience and influencers to turn expired or unused coupons into new savings opportunities. Cannes Lions describes the mechanic but does not quantify resulting sales, so the award is not evidence of a specific sales lift. Cannes Lions, 20 June 2025.

What the reported numbers do—and do not—show
The Cannes Lions winner reports include figures tied to particular campaigns and award submissions. They are not comparable measures of how popular the ads were.
- Natura: Cannes Lions reports 400 km² mapped in six months, 30,000 trees identified with cosmetic potential, and a target to preserve 3 million hectares by 2030. These figures describe the campaign and stated aim, not audience response. Cannes Lions, 20 June 2025.
- Channel 4’s Paris Paralympics film: Cannes Lions’ Film Lions report says 79% thought the Paralympics were as exciting as the Olympics. The reviewed award report does not provide the study method, sample, or field dates, so this should not be treated as a general population estimate. Cannes Lions, 20 June 2025.
- Dove Real Beauty: A jury president’s explanation quoted in the Cannes Lions coverage says 2% of women describe themselves as beautiful. The report does not identify the original study or its year; it is not a verified current statistic. Cannes Lions, 20 June 2025.
- Creative Effectiveness Lions: Entries rose 6.5% year over year, according to Cannes Lions. That measures award submissions, not audience response to winning campaigns. Cannes Lions, 20 June 2025.
- Media Lions: Entries rose 9% year over year, adding 170 entries; FMCG entries rose 20%, adding 126, according to Cannes Lions. These are submission counts, not popularity measures. Cannes Lions, June 2025.
What made these campaigns distinctive
The shortlist spans several approaches: changing a service or policy (AXA), designing around a platform (Dove’s Pinterest work), inviting audience participation (Budweiser), using an instantly readable outdoor image (KitKat), improving accessibility (Caption with Intention), and building a commerce mechanic (Ziploc). Their shared feature is not a proven level of consumer popularity; it is that juries recognized a clear idea in a defined category.
