Neither Poppi nor OLIPOP is the better choice for everyone. In the cited flavor examples, OLIPOP Orange Squeeze has more fiber per can; Poppi’s Classic Cola and Root Beer have fewer calories and less fiber. Compare the exact flavors you would buy, then weigh sugar, ingredients, fiber tolerance, taste, and price per can.
How the cited flavors compare
These figures come from the manufacturers’ published product information, not an independent nutrition study. They describe specific flavors, not every can in either brand’s lineup.
| Nutrition or ingredient detail | Poppi examples | OLIPOP example | What it means for your choice |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dietary fiber | Classics examples list 3 g per can. | Orange Squeeze lists 9 g per 12 fl oz can. | Orange Squeeze is the higher-fiber example. OLIPOP’s FAQ says its lines range from 6 to 9 g per 12 fl oz can. |
| Total sugars | The cited Classics examples list 5 g per can. | Orange Squeeze lists 4 g per can. | Check the flavor’s label rather than assuming the difference holds across either brand. |
| Added sugars | Classic Cola lists 3 g; the amount varies by flavor. | Orange Squeeze lists 1 g. | Total sugars and added sugars are separate numbers on the Nutrition Facts panel. |
| Calories | The cited Classics examples list 30 calories for Root Beer and 35 for Classic Cola. | Orange Squeeze lists 45 calories. | In these examples, Poppi is lower in calories; other flavors may differ. |
| Ingredients | The cited examples include cassava root fiber, organic agave inulin, and organic apple cider vinegar. | Orange Squeeze lists cassava root fiber, chicory root inulin, Jerusalem artichoke inulin, and extracts in its OLISMART blend. | Compare the ingredient list for the particular flavor, especially if you avoid or do not tolerate a specific ingredient. |
| Taste and price | No representative taste-test winner or consistent current price was established. | No representative taste-test winner or consistent current price was established. | Taste is personal; check your local shelf or retailer for current price per can. |
For the product-specific numbers, see Poppi’s Classics listings and OLIPOP’s Orange Squeeze listing. OLIPOP’s FAQ describes its broader product-line ranges: 6–9 g fiber, 2–5 g sugar, and no more than 50 calories per 12 fl oz can.
Which one fits your priorities?
Choose OLIPOP if fiber per can is your priority
The cited Orange Squeeze label lists 9 g of dietary fiber, compared with 3 g in the cited Poppi Classics examples. That is a label comparison, not proof that the drink will improve digestion or provide a particular health benefit. OLIPOP also has a 6 g line, so check the exact flavor rather than applying the Orange Squeeze figure to every can.
#1 Best Overall

Consider Poppi if you want less fiber in the examples reviewed
The cited Poppi Classics examples list 3 g fiber per can. Their ingredient lists include cassava root fiber and organic agave inulin, along with organic apple cider vinegar. If you prefer less fiber in a soda or want to compare a shorter ingredient list in the flavors reviewed, Poppi may suit you better; the label and your own tolerance should guide the decision.
Compare sugar and calories flavor by flavor
Poppi’s cited Classic Cola has 35 calories and 3 g added sugar, while Root Beer has 30 calories and 3 g added sugar. OLIPOP Orange Squeeze has 45 calories and 1 g added sugar. Those examples show why “Poppi versus OLIPOP” is not a single brand-wide nutrition comparison: the flavor matters, and total sugars should not be confused with added sugars.
Rank #2
- Includes 8 (12oz) cans of PEPSI Prebiotic Cola Soda Pop, Cherry Vanilla Cola flavor
- Unbelievably PEPSI: Iconic PEPSI-COLA taste with no artificial sweeteners, just 30 calories, 3 grams of prebiotic fiber, and 5 grams of sugar

Check ingredients and caffeine on the exact can
OLIPOP Orange Squeeze’s listed OLISMART blend includes cassava root fiber, chicory root inulin, Jerusalem artichoke inulin, and extracts; the full product page also lists juice and other flavor-specific ingredients. Poppi’s ingredients vary by flavor, too. The cited Doc Pop listing includes natural caffeine, so anyone limiting caffeine should read that flavor’s label rather than assume every Poppi can is caffeine-free.
Different fibers and other ingredients may matter to individual preferences or tolerance. A larger fiber number is not automatically a better fit for every person.

What “prebiotic” does—and does not—establish
A Nutrition Facts panel can tell you how much fiber and sugar a can lists. It cannot, by itself, show that the beverage treats symptoms or improves your gut health. Avoid treating “prebiotic” positioning as a guaranteed personal outcome or as evidence that one brand is clinically superior.
Axios reported on March 29, 2025, on consumer allegations that Poppi’s gut-health marketing overstated benefits; the company disputed those allegations. They should be understood as allegations, not as a court finding or proof that either beverage does or does not improve health. For that context, see Axios’s report. A dietitian’s comparison can help frame nutrition, ingredients, taste, and value as decision factors, but current product labels are the more direct source for a flavor’s numbers; see The Balanced Nutritionist’s comparison, updated December 8, 2025.

How to compare value before buying
- Pick the flavor first. Brand-level averages can hide differences in fiber, sugar, calories, and ingredients.
- Read the Nutrition Facts panel. Compare dietary fiber, total sugars, added sugars, and calories on the same serving basis.
- Review the full ingredient list. Check for ingredients you prefer to avoid or may not tolerate, and check caffeine where relevant.
- Calculate your local price per can. Divide the pack price by the number of cans, accounting for pack size and any delivery or retailer charges. No consistent current price comparison is established here.
- Let taste decide between acceptable labels. There is no representative taste-test result that settles a winner.
