The UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has warned about a firm using that name to impersonate an authorised business. The warning does not prove that every company or website with a similar name is the same firm, so verify the exact website, legal entity and contact details before sending money or documents.
What the FCA warning says about PMM Limited
The FCA’s warning, first published on 21 June 2024 and last updated on 18 November 2024, says the PMM Limited it identifies “is not authorised by us” and has contacted people while pretending to be an authorised firm. The FCA classifies it as a clone firm. Read the FCA warning.
The warning identifies the firm being impersonated as Professional Money Management Ltd, FCA Firm Reference Number 628902, with an address in Currie, Midlothian, and the website personalmm.co.uk. The FCA expressly says Professional Money Management Ltd has no connection with the clone. These are two separate entities; do not treat the clone’s name as evidence that it is the authorised firm.
Websites and details named in the warning
The FCA lists www.pmm-limited.cc, account.pmm-limited.cc, pmm-limited.info, pmm-limited.net and pmm-limited.top, along with contact details and London addresses for the clone. These identifiers are clues for checking, not a complete or permanent list: the FCA cautions that scammers may change their details or combine false information with genuine firm details.

Is PMM Limited regulated?
The FCA says the specific PMM Limited clone in its warning is not authorised. That finding should not be generalized to every business sharing the name. A separate Companies House record lists PMM LIMITED, company number 13376784, as an active private limited company incorporated on 5 May 2021, with business classifications relating to real estate. That record does not identify the company as a broker or connect it to the FCA warning. View the Companies House record.
A company registration is not proof that a firm is authorised to provide financial services. Check the exact legal entity and the permissions relevant to the service you plan to use in the FCA Firm Checker. The FCA advises using the contact details shown there—not details supplied in an unexpected message—to verify a firm.

How to check a PMM-branded website before dealing with it
- Record the exact details. Note the full website address, legal name, phone number, email address and any firm reference number. Small differences in a domain or name matter.
- Search the FCA Firm Checker independently. Find the firm using the regulator’s official service and compare its legal name, reference number, website and contact details with the details you were given.
- Check permission for the specific service. A firm’s presence in the register does not by itself establish that it may provide every service or product. Confirm the relevant permissions for the activity being offered.
- Contact the listed firm using independently verified details. Ask whether it operates the website and whether the person contacting you represents it. Do not rely on phone numbers, links or email addresses in an unsolicited approach.
- Stop if the details do not match. Do not transfer funds or provide identity documents while the discrepancy remains unresolved. The FCA warns that clone firms can use genuine firms’ information alongside false details.
What protection would you have if you sent money?
For the clone described in its warning, the FCA says customers would not have access to the Financial Ombudsman Service if they wanted to complain and would not be protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme if the firm went out of business. Those statements apply to dealing with the clone identified by the FCA; they do not establish the protections available for every business with a similar name.

Not reliably without identifying the exact broker and its legal entity. The available regulator and registry records do not establish the intended firm’s spreads, tradable instruments, platform quality, execution, withdrawal conditions or trading returns. There is therefore no sound basis to assess whether it helps traders “maximize” results or to present this as a tested broker review.

Before evaluating costs or features, first establish that the website belongs to the legal entity shown in the relevant regulator record and that the entity has permission for the services offered. If a firm’s identity cannot be confirmed, a comparison of its trading terms would be misleading.
