BBC Sport reported on 23 December 2025 that Hallett lent Argyle £9,808,539 from July 2025 onwards. Added to £2,628,961 during the club’s second Championship season, the reported total lent between July 2024 and December 2025 was £12,437,500. BBC Sport’s 23 December 2025 report on the club’s accounts for the year ending 30 June 2025 gave these figures:

In a BBC Sport interview published on 13 April 2026, Hallett said he was being patient about finding the right investor or investor group. He also said further money had gone into infrastructure that “will outlive me”. BBC Sport’s 31 May 2025 report had previously said an investment agreement fell through. The update cited average Championship losses of £25m a year and noted that at least three clubs each year benefit from Premier League parachute payments after relegation.
