What happened at Karrinyup
PerthNow reported on 24 January 2025 that the woman bought the ticket at Full Hand Lottery Centre in Karrinyup Shopping Centre. She said she had gone to the air-conditioned centre for a break from a heatwave: “I thought an air-conditioned shopping centre was a great day trip in this weather.”
The reported prize was $300,000 from a $20 Christmas Countdown scratchie. The article did not name the winner or provide independent official confirmation of the win.
What the winner said she planned to do

Wender also said Scratch ‘n’ Win ticket sales raised almost $45 million for Lotterywest’s grants program; the report did not specify the period covered by that second figure. These are reported statements attributed to Wender, rather than figures independently verified by a separate official publication in the material available.
What this story does—and does not—show
This is one reported winner’s story, not evidence that scratch tickets are a dependable way to improve personal finances. PerthNow’s report gives no odds or prize-structure details, and it does not establish whether Christmas Countdown tickets are still available. A single win cannot show the likelihood of winning or what a typical player receives.

- Let's face it you don't want to give someone a winning scratch off ticket that shows they won a million dollars on it, you would probably lose friends and family if you did that. We heard your complaints and made our winning amounts 10k and 50k. That allows you to choose between the good, the bad, but not the ugly.
- Includes a total of 8 tickets. You will get 4 of the "Big Time Millions" design, and 4 of the "Jackpot Jubilee" design. The "Big time Millions" is a guaranteed $50,000 winner, the "Jackpot Jubilee" is a guaranteed $10,000 winner. In addition to those winning amounts, each ticket also wins an additional $30 for the top game.
- Each ticket measures 8 x 4 inches and includes 2 separate games per ticket. The back is very realistic but also has plenty of info telling them it's fake after they read the fine print, it's hidden enough to fool just about anyone. We didn't just phone in the back text either, the back alone is a crack up.
- Printed using HRP Technology (Hyper Realistic Printing). Some other tickets look ok on the front but once you see the back you can see how fake they look. Compare the front and especially the back of ours to anybody else's, you can see we went that extra mile on our design for both sides. Includes barcodes and scan codes just like the real thing. For the final touch we also added perforation on the top and bottom for that real lottery ticket feel
- Makes a great gift idea. Great for parties, social gathering, work / office parties, holidays, birthdays and any other special occasion. Also great for when you are just hanging out with friends.
