The agency said she had reused numbers from an earlier Wednesday entry after that ticket did not win. The account is Lotterywest’s; it did not identify the winner by name or suburb.
How the Perth woman found out she had won
According to Lotterywest’s 4 June 2024 account, the woman played the same numbers for a Wednesday draw, checked that entry and saw she had not won. She then used those numbers again for the Friday draw—the first time she had reused them—and won Division One.
Lotterywest said she spent the long weekend unsure whether she had won and later checked her ticket at Lotterywest headquarters. Spokesperson Zoe Wender quoted her as saying: “I spent the whole long weekend thinking about it, I didn’t want to let myself believe it either way.” Lotterywest described her as living south of the river; it did not publish her name or suburb.
What Millionaire Medley is—and what the odds mean
Lotterywest’s current Millionaire Medley game page, checked 8 October 2026, says draws take place on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Six winning numbers and two supplementary numbers are drawn from 45.

| Outcome | Lotterywest’s published odds per standard game |
|---|---|
| Division One | Approximately 1 in 8,145,060 |
| Any prize | 1 in 86 |
These are odds for one standard game, not a prediction for a particular player or draw. Lotterywest says each game has the same chance and that buying a ticket means taking part in a game of chance. Its page also states: “There’s no skill or strategy that will increase your chance of winning as the chance of winning doesn’t change.” Reusing numbers may be a personal preference, but it does not improve the odds.

| Guaranteed $1 million Division One winners | Up to four | Up to six |
The change added a Friday draw and increased the number of guaranteed $1 million Division One winners from up to four to up to six. Lotterywest spokesperson James Mooney said the update responded to requests for an extra weekly draw, more opportunities to win $1 million and higher prizes in lower divisions. Those game changes provide context for the 2024 win; they do not make an individual entry more likely to win.
