The brand attributed the 2024 case to an imitation site; the later delays were attributed by its founders to an operations move. Neither report establishes what happened to every customer. Here’s how to check your order and decide what to do next.
What happened in the Peppermayo reports?
The 2024 lookalike-site warning
In a 3 September 2024 report, PerthNow described a US high-school student’s TikTok about a dress she said had not arrived before her homecoming dance. Peppermayo’s spokesperson told the outlet that the customer had been scammed by an imitation site using the brand’s intellectual property and logos. PerthNow identified the lookalike domain as “Pepperrmayo,” with an extra “r.” That is the company’s explanation as reported by PerthNow, not independent proof that all complaints about missing orders involved fake websites. The report said the TikTok had more than nine million views; that figure is PerthNow’s 2024 report, not an independently measured audience count.
The spokesperson also warned about fake public-relations emails sent from Gmail accounts and advised shoppers to “triple-check the website domain” when receiving brand emails. This advice was attributed to Peppermayo’s spokesperson, not to a regulator.
The separate 2025 order-delay complaints
A different PerthNow report dated 30 April 2025 covered customer complaints about missing orders, long delays and unanswered inquiries. Peppermayo founders Georgia Wright and Huayi Huang apologized for delays and lack of transparency, and attributed the backlog to an operations move. Their statement, quoted by PerthNow, said: “Firstly we want to sincerely apologise for the recent delays experienced by our amazing customers in receiving their orders, and for our lack of transparency during this time,” and “We know we let you down, and for that, we are truly sorry.”

The founders said they had cleared “approximately 85 per cent” of the backlog and expected to catch up by the end of that weekend. That was a company estimate reported in April 2025, not an independently verified or current backlog figure. The cited reports do not establish the current status of the backlog or the outcome of individual orders.
How to check whether your order is genuine and trackable
If you may have used a lookalike website
- Check the exact domain in your order confirmation and payment record. A small spelling difference can indicate an imitation site; do not assume that a site is genuine because it uses Peppermayo’s name or logo.
- Do not follow links in suspicious emails or messages, especially unsolicited messages from free email accounts asking for payment or personal information.
- Reach customer support by navigating directly to Peppermayo’s Help Centre, rather than replying to an unexpected email or using a link from an unverified site.
- If you entered payment details on a site you now suspect is fake, contact your bank or card provider promptly. Ask about securing the payment method and whether a dispute or reversal may be available; providers’ terms and deadlines apply.
If you ordered from Peppermayo’s genuine site
Use the tracking link or order-support options in the official Help Centre. Peppermayo says dispatched orders receive tracking information and directs customers to tracking support. Its guidance recommends contacting the courier if the parcel has not arrived one week after the tracking notification. Keep your order confirmation, tracking updates and any support correspondence together in case you need to explain the timeline.

How long does Peppermayo delivery take?
Peppermayo’s delivery page currently lists the following Australian estimates:

These are the retailer’s estimates, not a guarantee for a particular parcel. Peppermayo says the estimate starts when the carrier receives and scans the parcel, uses business days, and excludes weekends and public holidays. Check the delivery page for current terms and your tracking status for the order-specific information. If there is no carrier scan, the delivery estimate may not yet have started.

What to do if the order is still missing
- Confirm the seller and order details. Check that you used the genuine retailer site, save the order number and confirmation, and compare the delivery address with the one on your account.
- Check the latest tracking event. Use the official Help Centre or the tracking link in your order notice. If tracking says the carrier has the parcel and it has not arrived after a week from the tracking notification, Peppermayo recommends contacting the courier.
- Contact the retailer in writing. Use the official Help Centre, describe what has and has not happened, and request a clear update or proposed solution. Keep copies of messages and note when you sent them.
- Ask your payment provider about options if the issue remains unresolved. A card issuer or payment service may explain whether a dispute, charge reversal or refund request is possible under its rules and time limits. This is a payment-provider process, not a guaranteed outcome.
- For an Australian purchase, consult consumer guidance if needed. The ACCC explains consumer rights and where to seek help, but it does not resolve individual disputes.
What Australian consumer protections say
The ACCC says a business that cannot supply a product paid for on time or within a reasonable time must provide a solution. It also cautions that a parcel’s non-arrival alone does not prove that a business has broken the law. Whether a particular delay or response breaches consumer law depends on the circumstances, so this general guidance is not a case-specific legal conclusion.
Online businesses have the same responsibilities as physical businesses, according to the ACCC. An overseas business selling directly to Australian consumers must also follow Australian Consumer Law. The ACCC does not adjudicate individual order disputes; its consumer rights guidance and online-shopping guidance explain the framework and options.
