The company attributed the changes to continuing external market pressures and the need to align plans with its financial capacity. This is a December 2024 announcement, not new breaking news as of October 2026.
What People Can Fly announced
In an announcement reported by PC Gamer on 10 December 2024, the Polish game developer said it would suspend Project Victoria, reduce the team working on Project Bifrost and restructure some support teams. CEO Sebastian Wojciechowski said those changes meant the company would suspend or part ways with more than 120 employees. The statement did not give a more precise total. PC Gamer’s report summarized the announcement; Pure Xbox’s 11 December 2024 report reproduced the CEO’s longer statement.

Why the company said it was making cuts
Wojciechowski said, “This action became necessary as external market pressures persisted beyond our forecasts.” He also said the company needed to tailor its plans to its financial capacity. Those are People Can Fly’s stated reasons; the reports do not independently establish the company’s financial position or verify the causes of the cuts.
The CEO said the company intended to seek more work-for-hire engagements and focus development on a single independent game. These were plans announced at the time, not evidence that the strategy was later completed.

What the reports establish—and what they do not
The announcement named Project Victoria and Project Bifrost, rather than describing cuts across every game in the company’s catalog. PC Gamer identifies Outriders, Bulletstorm and Gears of War: Judgment as People Can Fly games, but those titles were not the projects named in the announcement.
The company said it was focused on providing affected workers with resources and assistance during the transition. The reviewed reports do not specify severance terms, the locations or job categories of affected employees, the exact number above 120, or what happened to each worker afterward.
