The published Paytm schedule accessed in 2026 lists examples ranging from a Linux D190 lifetime plan at ₹6,490 (including GST) to Android lifetime plans at ₹7,999 for the A50 and ₹11,999 for the A910. These are schedule examples, not guaranteed offers for every merchant; ask Paytm for a full written quote before ordering.
What does “Paytm POS machine” mean?
The phrase covers several products rather than one standard terminal. Paytm currently presents printer and non-printer card machines, and its hardware page also lists All-in-One POS, Smart POS, Linux POS, and Dynamic QR. Their capabilities and costs are not interchangeable, so first match the product to how your business takes payments and handles checkout.
Card machines with a printer
Paytm describes its newly launched printer card machine as running Android 11, with 4G, 5 GHz Wi-Fi, a printer, and a scanner. Paytm’s “2 year Battery Life” statement is a vendor claim footnoted as tested in a controlled environment, not an independently established result for everyday merchant use. A second printer card machine is described as Android-based with 4G/Wi-Fi, printer, and scanner; the product page does not publish a price for it.
Non-printer card machine
Paytm positions this Android device for portable use in shops, restaurants, and delivery businesses. Its listed features include 4G/Wi-Fi and a scanner. If you need printed receipts, confirm whether this device meets your workflow before accepting a quote.

What published Paytm schedules say about device costs
Paytm’s Master Offline Agreement contains device-specific schedule examples. The figures below are published terms accessed in 2026, not a promise that every new merchant can choose every model or plan. The official product page routes merchants through onboarding rather than displaying one universal price. Confirm the model and plan against your own written offer; in the Linux monthly schedule, check which model and column apply before calculating a total.

The schedules distinguish charges such as installation fees and deposits; do not assume a deposit is refundable, or that a listed total includes every recurring cost, without checking the applicable agreement. Tax treatment also differs across listed items: for example, monthly SIM charges are stated excluding GST, while lifetime device totals above are inclusive of GST.
What monthly and transaction charges can apply?
A device price alone does not show the cost of accepting payments. Depending on the model, plan, and merchant terms, the agreement may include rent, SIM charges, low-usage charges, taxes, and transaction fees. Paytm’s pricing page displays EDC merchant discount rates (MDR) by payment method and merchant size; it defines small merchants as having previous-financial-year turnover below ₹20 lakh and big merchants as above ₹20 lakh. The page says its displayed pricing applies to SME merchants. Your actual rates can depend on payment method, category, contract, and current terms.

These are examples from the published pricing page, not a substitute for the rates in your merchant contract. The agreement also provides for other charges on applicable plans, including monthly EMI charges and setup fees for EMI or international cards; rates are subject to applicable laws. Ask for MDR by payment method and category, plus any applicable EMI, international-card, or other processing fees, in writing.
How to compare offers and calculate the real cost
Compare offers on the cost and operation of the whole payment setup, not only the advertised upfront amount. A lifetime plan may reduce or remove monthly rent but still have SIM or low-usage charges; a monthly plan may require less upfront cash but add rent. Deposits, taxes, processing rates, and termination terms can change the total.

- Choose the required workflow. Decide whether you need printed receipts, portable card acceptance, billing, barcode scanning, or QR-based collection and reconciliation.
- Get the exact offer. Ask for model number, plan name, upfront amount, installation fee, deposit, monthly rent, SIM/data charge, software fees, and the applicable low-usage rule.
- Estimate your transaction mix. Request rates for the payment methods and merchant categories your customers actually use, and verify the turnover band Paytm applies to your business.
- Check the operating terms. Obtain settlement timing and fees, GST treatment, warranty, support service-level terms, termination and device-pickup conditions, and deposit-refund terms.
- Compare over your likely use period. Add upfront non-refundable fees, recurring charges, applicable usage fees and taxes, and estimated MDR. Keep refundable deposits separate from permanent costs, but account for the cash tied up while the deposit is held.
Paytm’s agreement specifies fees and liabilities by plan, so make sure the written offer and agreement identify the same device and commercial terms. Do not calculate from a schedule row unless you have confirmed its model and column alignment.

Paytm’s merchant testimonial
Paytm features Prabjot Singh of Sahani Creations in Ludhiana saying: “Paytm Card Machine was deployed at my shop within a day. In just a few minutes, I was able to start accepting payments.” This is a vendor-published testimonial, not proof that other merchants will receive the same deployment time.
Third-party user comments
Techjockey’s listing includes dated reports from 2020, 2021, and February 9, 2025. Comments include positive accounts of setup and usability as well as concerns about network problems, a device malfunction during a card transaction, and customer support. The comments are individual reports; they do not establish how common those problems are or how current service performs.
Older price claims on third-party listings conflict in scope and age with Paytm’s device-specific agreement schedule. They should not be treated as current Paytm quotes. For pricing, use the offer and agreement Paytm provides for your merchant account.
Is the NFC Card Soundbox a POS alternative?
It is an adjacent payment product, not necessarily a replacement for a full POS terminal. In a 2024 release, One 97 Communications Limited described the Paytm NFC Card Soundbox as accepting UPI app payments and NFC debit and credit cards through one device. The company stated battery life of up to 10 days; that is a company specification, not an independent test. Compare its supported workflows and full offer against a POS machine before deciding.
