Paymentology and Huru say they plan to launch a Huru card on the UAE’s Jaywan domestic card scheme in Q4 2026. Paymentology will provide the processing technology. The announcement, dated 12 October 2026, sets a target window; it does not confirm that the card is available yet.

What the Paymentology–Huru announcement means

The companies expanded their existing partnership to support a Huru card on Jaywan. Paymentology is the processor, while Huru is the account platform. The release does not give a specific launch day or explain how customers will apply. Paymentology’s announcement describes the card as scheduled for Q4 2026.

Huru describes its Universal Account as an individual IBAN-based account connected to the customer rather than a specific employer. Huru says customers can keep the same account when they change jobs, rather than repeatedly changing salary arrangements. The announcement lists salary receipt, domestic and international payments, overseas remittances, mobile top-ups, savings goals and a Huru card among the platform’s functions. It also says the app is available in seven languages.

What Jaywan is—and what is already underway

Jaywan is the UAE’s domestic card scheme. On 20 July 2026, Al Etihad Payments said nationwide issuance had officially commenced through banks, licensed financial institutions and exchange houses. Its scheme-wide description covers card acceptance at point-of-sale terminals, e-commerce platforms, ATMs and digital wallets, including contactless transactions, online purchases and cash withdrawals, subject to applicable rules and regulations. These are scheme-level capabilities, not confirmation that each is enabled on Huru’s planned card. Al Etihad Payments’ announcement gives the nationwide-issuance context.

Earlier official releases discussed possible Jaywan formats and international use, but they do not establish the configuration of Huru’s card. In February 2025, the Central Bank of the UAE and Al Etihad Payments described debit, prepaid and credit options; basic and premium tiers; and mono-badge or co-badged cards. They said mono-badge cards were for local and GCC use and that co-badging with an international network would facilitate local and global use. The release named agreements with Discover, Mastercard, Visa and UnionPay, and described then-planned wallet and international usability steps. In October 2025, the CBUAE said licensed institutions would offer debit, prepaid and credit formats, either mono-badge or co-badged with international schemes. These are historical, scheme-level statements—not confirmation of a Huru card type, network partner or current feature set. The CBUAE’s October 2025 notice and the February 2025 scheme announcement describe those broader plans.

What the companies report about Huru’s reach

Paymentology’s 12 October 2026 announcement reports AED 3 billion in annualised salary flows through Huru’s platform, more than 24,000 employers using it and relationships with nine exchange houses. These are figures reported by Paymentology, not independent market-wide measurements. The company also sets a target of approximately one million accounts over the coming year; that is a target, not an achieved account count.

What customers still need to know

The announcement does not state Huru card fees, eligibility, the exact launch date, application steps, whether the card will be physical or virtual, or whether it will be mono-badge or co-badged. It also does not confirm a network partner or whether the card will support particular scheme-wide features such as digital wallets. Those details should not be inferred from Jaywan’s overall capabilities or earlier scheme announcements.
