Pakistan’s petrol price was reported at Rs 264.61 per litre from August 1, 2025, a decrease of Rs 7.54 from Rs 272.15. High-speed diesel did not get cheaper in the same revision: its reported price rose by Rs 1.48 to Rs 285.83 per litre. These are historical rates, not current October 2026 prices.
What changed on August 1, 2025?
TechJuice reported that the revised rates took effect in Pakistan on August 1, 2025. The comparison below is between the previous and revised per-litre prices reported for that revision.

The figures were reported by TechJuice, which attributed them to a Finance Division notification. The article does not link to the notification, so the rates here are attributed to TechJuice rather than independently confirmed against the underlying notice.
How long were the rates in force?
TechJuice said the rates would remain in force until the next scheduled review on August 16, 2025. That date has passed; the August 2025 figures should not be used as a guide to what drivers pay now.

Why did petrol and diesel move in opposite directions?
TechJuice describes Pakistan’s fuel-price review as fortnightly and says the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority’s proposals reflect international oil prices, currency movements, taxes and levies. The article does not link primary documentation for that explanation, and it does not establish a specific event as the cause of the August 1 changes.
The practical takeaway for that revision is product-specific: petrol became cheaper, while high-speed diesel became more expensive. A petrol-price decrease did not mean every fuel price fell.
