What was the LPG cylinder price in Pakistan for April 2026?
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) set the maximum consumer price at Rs3,588.59 for an 11.8 kg cylinder in April 2026, up from Rs2,664.88 in March. The exact reported increase was Rs923.71 per cylinder, equivalent to 34.66%. Dawn reported the figures from OGRA’s notification on March 31, 2026. Read Dawn’s report.
The notified April rate applied through April 30, 2026. It was a regulated maximum consumer price, not proof that every retailer in every locality charged precisely that amount.
How the April increase was calculated
OGRA’s reported calculation cited a 44% rise in Saudi Aramco-CP and a 0.11% decline in the average dollar exchange rate. The net reported change was a 34.66% increase in the maximum consumer price, or Rs923.71 per 11.8 kg cylinder. These are the factors and outcome given in the report, not a separate estimate of how each market factor affected local retail prices.

Producer price versus consumer price
The producer price and maximum consumer price are different measures. For April, the reported producer price was Rs262,817.53 per tonne, equivalent to Rs3,101.25 for an 11.8 kg cylinder. The maximum consumer price was Rs304,117.53 per tonne, or Rs3,588.59 per cylinder.
The reported consumer-price calculation added marketing, distribution and transportation margins to the producer price, then applied 18% GST on the margin. The listed margins were Rs17,000, Rs10,000 and Rs8,000 per tonne, respectively. So a comparison is meaningful only when it uses the same price category and unit—for example, maximum consumer price per cylinder against maximum consumer price per cylinder.

Is Rs3,588.59 still the current LPG price?
No. Rs3,588.59 is the April 2026 maximum consumer price and should not be presented as today’s rate. OGRA’s official LPG Notified Prices index lists monthly notifications, including later entries through October 2026. Check the relevant later notification for the current notified amount; the index establishes that later notifications exist, but does not itself provide the detailed April amount in its captured listing.

What to check when comparing a local refill price
- Match the period: compare the retailer’s price with the notification for the same month, not April’s historical figure.
- Match the unit: an 11.8 kg cylinder is not the same quantity as a per-kilogram or per-tonne quote.
- Match the price type: producer price is not the consumer-end maximum price.
- Account for location: the reported national notification does not establish what an individual shop charged in a particular locality.
