Why did the regulator approve the acquisition?
Pakistan’s Competition Commission announced approval on 25 August 2026 after a Phase-I review. It identified decorative coatings (paint) and industrial coatings as the relevant product markets and Pakistan as the geographic market. The CCP described the market as fragmented and concluded the acquisition was unlikely to materially enhance market power, impede competitors or substantially lessen competition. That is the regulator’s assessment. Competition Commission of Pakistan announcement
