Outpost announced a $12.5 million Series A on April 23, 2024, with GreenPoint Partners leading the round and Speedwagon Capital Partners participating. At the same time, the company rebranded from Semi-Stow to Outpost. It said the funding would support expansion of its managed properties and technology platform.
What Outpost does
Outpost operates truck-parking yards and terminals serving carriers, private fleets and owner-operators. Its business combines properties it acquires or manages with a brokerage service that connects customers to parking at partner-managed yards. In July 2024, the company described its platform as a way to book and manage reservations while giving fleets visibility into yard activity.
At the time of its April 2024 funding announcement, Outpost said it had 18 properties with 8,000 parking spaces, plus 20 additional partner yards through its brokerage operation. Those figures describe the network then, not its current size.
How Outpost’s reported network has changed
| Announcement | Company-reported network |
|---|---|
| April 2024 | 18 properties and 8,000 spaces, plus 20 partner yards, according to Outpost’s funding announcement. |
| June and July 2024 | 21 locations and more than 10,000 spaces, according to Outpost’s expansion announcement and platform announcement. |
| May 2026 | 30+ truck terminals and drop yards, according to Outpost’s gate-automation announcement. A current space total was not stated in that announcement. |
Outpost said in May 2026 that it had signed nearly 50 new-location contracts in the first four months of that year. The contract figure and the company’s claim of 3 million annual gate events are company-reported, not independently audited in the cited announcement.

Why truck parking is part of the story
Outpost’s 2024 funding announcement presented truck parking as a supply-chain and driver-safety issue. It quoted a February 2022 letter from the American Trucking Associations and Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association that put the ratio at one parking space for every 11 trucks on the road. That is an older, attributed figure, not a current independently verified measure.
The company also cited an American Transportation Research Institute case study from December 2016, which estimated that drivers spent nearly an hour a day looking for parking and that the time amounted to a 12% annual pay cut. These figures reflect the cited 2016 study as quoted by Outpost; they should not be treated as a current estimate for every driver. Outpost linked the shortage to unsafe or unauthorized parking and challenges finding a place to rest while meeting hours-of-service requirements.

From reservations to automated gates
Booking and yard visibility
Outpost’s July 2024 description covered real-time parking inventory, access codes and managed check-ins, plus AI-assisted reading of license plates and vehicle numbers with human verification. It also listed visible-damage assessment, perimeter intrusion detection, and live or on-demand video at entrances and exits. Customer testimonials in the announcement came from representatives of Werner Enterprises and PAM Transport.
Second-generation gate automation
In May 2026, Outpost announced a second-generation gate system for truck terminals and broader industrial facilities. The described features include a kiosk, microphones designed to reduce engine noise, multilingual driver transcription, yard navigation, reefer-monitor recognition, multi-camera vehicle tracking, seal and latch checks, driver-license scanning, and remote gate-operations tools.

The company said the system was available across the United States to shippers, enterprise fleets and industrial facility operators.

The $12.5 million raise is a historical financing announcement, not a current funding round. Outpost said proceeds would accelerate growth in its managed-property network and technology platform. Its CEO, Trent Cameron, described truck parking as “essential infrastructure for our supply chain and the US economy—no different from roads and bridges.”
