Re:

O’Sullivan, Trump, Selby and Higgins: What Their Prize Money Says About Net Worth

No reliable public source reviewed establishes these players' net worth. SnookerWins' listed career prize money offers a comparison, not a measure of personal wealth.

There is no reliable public source in the material reviewed that establishes Ronnie O’Sullivan’s, Judd Trump’s, Mark Selby’s or John Higgins’s current net worth. The clearest like-for-like comparison available is their career prize money as listed by SnookerWins—not their assets, debts or money kept after tax and expenses.

Career prize money listed for the four players

SnookerWins’ all-time table ranks O’Sullivan first among these four, followed by Higgins, Trump and Selby. The figures below are the amounts listed by that site as career prize money; they are not verified wealth estimates. SnookerWins gives no precise update date or methodology in the captured table.

Player Career prize money listed Turned professional
Ronnie O’Sullivan £30,321,434 1992
John Higgins £22,154,238 1992
Judd Trump £19,951,742 2005
Mark Selby £18,449,258 1999

SnookerWins’ all-time prize-money table is a secondary statistical record, not a personal financial disclosure. The professional-start years provide career context; they do not establish how much any player owns today.

Why prize money is not net worth

Net worth is the value of a person’s assets minus liabilities. Career prize money is only one potential source of income, and a tournament total does not show what remains after taxes, travel and other professional expenses. Nor does it reveal property, investments, sponsorship and media income, or debts.

For that reason, O’Sullivan has the highest listed career prize money among these four in the SnookerWins table, but the table cannot establish who is richest by net worth. The same distinction applies to the other three players: the listed totals are not take-home earnings or a balance sheet.

Keep seasonal rankings separate from career totals

Snooker.org’s 2025/2026 season page labels its figures as ranking money earned during that season and says the table is updated after the World Championship. Seasonal ranking money is a different measure from an all-time career total, and neither measure is net worth.

Why online net-worth estimates should be treated cautiously

Celebrity-wealth sites publish estimates that can conflict and may not explain a verifiable balance-sheet calculation. For example, Celebrity Net Worth’s Ronnie O’Sullivan page gives a dollar estimate, but the captured page does not show a transparent calculation supporting it. A published estimate without a clear method is not enough to state a person’s current wealth as fact.
