Forbes Digital Assets’ Onyxcoin page displays pricing and chart information, historical ranges, a conversion calculator, and price rows for Kraken and KuCoin. The page is a live-data destination, not a fixed price report: a value seen at one time should not be treated as current later.
For a useful comparison, note the quote time, currency, exchange or data provider, and chart period. CoinGecko and CoinMarketCap also publish market information, but their prices, trading figures and supply estimates may differ from one another and from an exchange quote. Do not combine figures from separate sources as though they describe the same market snapshot.

What the latest Onyxcoin news says
Reported 620 million XCN transfer remains unresolved
On October 6, 2026, Crypto Briefing reported that security firm Blockaid had flagged a possible exploit involving the Onyx DAO treasury and a transfer of 620 million XCN. Crypto Briefing valued the transfer at about $2.91 million at the time of its report. CoinNess also reported an alleged governance attack involving a transfer of the same amount. These are secondary reports; the available reporting does not establish whether the transfer was an exploit, who was responsible, or whether it was instead a previously announced migration.
Accordingly, the transfer should be described as reported and its interpretation as unresolved—not as a confirmed exploit. See the accounts from Crypto Briefing and CoinNess. Neither report alone settles the cause. The reported dollar valuation is time-sensitive and is not a current XCN price.

Chain transition announcement
On September 13, 2026, Chain announced that Onyx had completed its acquisition of the Chain technology platform and that eligible service transitions would continue through October 31, 2026. The announcement provides ecosystem context, but does not state that XCN’s token mechanics changed. Read Chain’s announcement for the transition details.
What XCN is used for
Onyx describes XCN as its utility, gas and governance token. According to the Onyx token page, it is used for network transaction fees, staking, governance and activity across the ecosystem. Forbes describes XCN as native to the Onyx XCN Ledger and Onyx Goliath blockchains, and also as an ERC-20 token used for staking and governance.

These are descriptions of intended functions, not evidence of adoption, investment value or future performance. Onyx documentation also lists service payments and discounts among possible uses; that documentation is older than the current token-page description, so confirm current terms with Onyx before relying on those particular functions. Onyx’s documentation, its whitepaper and market-data aggregators do not present one universally consistent supply figure. Aggregators also publish their own estimates. For context, consult the Onyx documentation, the Onyx whitepaper and the market-data provider’s methodology; state the publisher and date whenever quoting a supply number.
