Is Onyx Odds worth it, and what do users say about it? It depends on which Onyx service you mean. The Onyx Odds app is presented as a free-to-play social sports game with promotional sweepstakes—not a real-money sportsbook. Onyx separately promotes Onyx Predictions, an event-trading service that carries substantial financial risk. User ratings are mixed across platforms, and neither ratings nor promotional descriptions establish the app’s performance or typical customer outcomes.
What Onyx Odds is—and what it is not
Onyx Odds is the name used for a social sports-picks app and related games and promotions. The US App Store listing describes it as free to play and says it does not offer real-money wagering. Onyx Games LLC’s Terms of Use, Version 2.1.1, updated August 7, 2026, likewise say the service covered by those terms does not offer real-money gambling and is intended for entertainment.
The terms characterize virtual coins as a limited, revocable license, nontransferable and without cash value. As Onyx states, “Virtual Coins are non-transferrable, and carry no cash value.” The terms say no purchase is required to create an account or play, while purchases may increase access to certain virtual coins or games or remove ads. They also say purchases are final and do not require a refund. Limited promotional contests or giveaways may have separate rules, so review the rules for the specific promotion rather than assuming virtual coins can be redeemed for cash.
That description applies to the social-game service, not every product using the Onyx name. Onyx’s homepage disclosures separately describe Onyx Predictions LLC as an introducing broker for event trading through NinjaTrader Clearing LLC. Treat the two services as distinct: a no-real-money statement for the app does not make event trading risk-free or equivalent to the social game.

What features does the app list?
The US App Store listing advertises sports picks for NFL and college football, NBA, WNBA and college basketball, MLB, NHL, tennis, soccer, golf, UFC, boxing, NASCAR, Formula 1, and other leagues as they enter season. It lists:
- Spreads, totals, moneylines and player props.
- Same-game parlays and parlays across a slate, including featured or boosted parlays.
- Live in-game picks and pick tracking.
- Social sharing and mini games, including live-dealer tables.
- A slip option described as either following odds movement or retaining the selected price.
These are capabilities described by the listing, not independently verified test results. The available information does not establish market depth, odds competitiveness, speed, uptime, or how consistently those features work.
Onyx Predictions is a separate, higher-risk service
Onyx’s homepage says Onyx Predictions LLC is registered with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and is an NFA member (NFA ID 0576468). It identifies NinjaTrader Clearing LLC (NFA ID 0309379) as the firm that carries and maintains brokerage accounts, and says Onyx Predictions does not accept or hold customer funds. These are company disclosures; registration is not a guarantee of service quality, safety, or a particular outcome.
The same disclosures warn that event-contract, futures, options, foreign-currency, digital-asset and crypto trading involve substantial risk. Onyx says, “An investor may lose all or more than the initial investment,” and advises using only risk capital. That warning concerns trading, not the app’s virtual coins. Anyone considering Onyx Predictions should understand its separate account and trading arrangements before proceeding.

What do users say about Onyx Odds?
As platform snapshots accessed October 8, 2026, the US App Store displayed 4.8 out of 5 from 15K ratings, while Trustpilot’s Onyxodds page displayed 3.7 out of 5 from 188 reviews. Trustpilot’s displayed distribution was 62% five-star, 6% four-star, 1% three-star, 2% two-star and 29% one-star. These counts and scores can change; they measure platform submissions, not independently verified product quality or typical customer results.
Trustpilot submissions include favorable reports about the layout and support as well as complaints involving referral bonuses, verification and withdrawal experiences. Those are individual, unverified accounts, not established company-wide facts. Trustpilot also notes that the company has not recently invited customers to review and that reviews may not be representative. The available platform information does not establish Onyx’s betting accuracy, payout reliability, odds competitiveness or customer outcomes through an independent record.
What to check before signing up or participating
Before using the app or entering a promotion, read the current Terms of Use and the specific game or promotion rules. Onyx says users must be of legal age, terms and rules apply, and continued use accepts posted changes. The terms include binding arbitration and a class-action waiver, with an opt-out process described in the document. Onyx also says terms can change and users are responsible for checking the posted version. This is a practical summary, not legal advice.
- Confirm whether your location and age are eligible for the app and the particular promotion.
- Check whether a promotion has an alternative free-entry method, its deadlines, and any redemption conditions.
- Distinguish purchases that may unlock access or remove ads from any claim that virtual coins have cash value; the terms say they do not.
- If considering event trading, review the separate risk and account disclosures on the homepage rather than applying the social-game terms to that service.
How to judge whether Onyx Odds is worth it
For a free-to-play social sports game, the relevant question is whether the listed games and social features suit you without spending money. If considering a purchase, decide whether the stated access or ad-removal benefit is worth its cost, and do not treat virtual coins as money or a reliable path to a prize. For a sweepstakes, eligibility and the specific entry and redemption rules matter more than a general app description.

Also consider age and location rules, clarity about the legal entity and custody for any separate trading service, and the quality of customer-support or redemption evidence. The ratings above are not enough to determine which service is better for you.
