The deadline to file a claim in Apple’s $95 million Siri privacy settlement was July 2, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time. The settlement administrator now says payments began on January 23, 2026, so people who did not file by the deadline cannot submit a new claim.
The case covered alleged unintended Siri activations that captured private or confidential conversations—not a general Apple data breach. Here is what the settlement covered, how the original claim process worked, and what approved claimants should do if their payment has not arrived.
What the Siri settlement was about
The case, Lopez v. Apple Inc., alleged that Siri sometimes activated unintentionally and recorded or shared portions of private conversations. Apple denied wrongdoing, but agreed to a $95 million settlement to resolve the litigation.
The certified class generally covered current or former U.S. residents who owned or purchased a qualifying Siri-enabled device and experienced an unintended Siri activation during a conversation they intended to keep private or confidential. The relevant period ran from September 17, 2014, through December 31, 2024.

- Tested for battery health and guaranteed to have a minimum battery capacity of 80%.
This was not compensation for simply owning an iPhone, using Siri, or having an Apple account. A claimant had to attest under penalty of perjury that all of the following applied:
- They owned or purchased a qualifying device and enabled Siri.
- Siri activated unintentionally at least once.
- The activation occurred while they were having a conversation intended to be private or confidential.
Which devices qualified?
The settlement claim form listed these Siri-enabled devices:
- iPhone
- iPad
- Apple Watch
- MacBook
- iMac
- HomePod
- iPod touch
- Apple TV
A claimant could claim up to five devices. The settlement payment was capped at up to $20 per device, or up to $100 before any allocation adjustment. The phrase “up to” mattered: the actual payment could be lower because the available settlement fund had to be divided among valid claims.
Can you still file a claim?
No. The online claim form closed at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time on July 2, 2025. Paper claims also had to be postmarked by that date. The official form stated that incomplete or late claims would be rejected.

The original mailing address was:
Lopez Voice Assistant Settlement AdministratorP.O. Box 6609
614 Cranbury Rd
East Brunswick, NJ 08816
Sending a form to that address now will not create a valid late claim. Be cautious of websites or social-media posts that still use urgent language such as “one day left” or promise that they can submit a claim on your behalf.
How the original claim process worked
People who received a settlement notice were asked to enter two codes from the notice:
- Claimant Identification Code
- Confirmation Code
People who did not have those codes could still submit a claim during the filing period, but they had to complete the purchase-information section and provide device details. The form could require a device serial number and model. A receipt or invoice could also be uploaded or attached as proof of purchase; when proof was supplied for a device, some of the remaining device-information fields did not need to be completed.
The available payment choices included Digital Check, mailed check, and—when filing online—direct deposit. Those options are no longer available for new claims because the filing period has ended.

When and how payments are being distributed
The settlement website says distribution of Class Payments began on January 23, 2026. Payment timing can vary depending on the selected method and whether a claim requires additional review.
Approved claimants should check the payment method they selected:
| Payment method | What to check |
|---|---|
| Digital Check | Look for an email from the settlement administrator, including in spam, junk, promotions, or quarantine folders. |
| Direct deposit | Review the bank account associated with the submitted claim and allow for processing time. |
| Mailed check | Check the mailing address supplied on the claim and watch for postal mail. |
The official settlement site advises that if a digital-check email has not arrived within one week of the relevant distribution notice, the claimant should contact the administrator to investigate or request reissue.
What to do if your payment is missing
- Check your claim records. Confirm that you filed before July 2, 2025 and kept your confirmation or claim information.
- Search your email. Search for “Lopez,” “Voice Assistant,” “Digital Check,” and “settlement.” Check spam, junk, promotions, and any workplace email quarantine.
- Check your bank account and mailbox. The payment may have been sent using a different option than you remember, or a mailed check may have arrived separately.
- Contact the administrator directly. Use 1-888-981-4106 or [email protected]. Ask whether the claim was approved, whether payment was issued, and whether a reissue is available.
- Do not pay a release fee. A legitimate settlement administrator should not require an upfront fee to unlock a payment.
Use the official settlement website, LopezVoiceAssistantSettlement.com, rather than links in unsolicited texts, emails, or social posts.

How much money should claimants expect?
The advertised maximum was $20 per qualifying device, with no more than five devices per claimant. That does not mean every approved claimant will receive $20 per device. The final amount depends on the number of valid claims and devices submitted, along with the settlement’s allocation rules.
For example, a claimant who listed three eligible devices could have a maximum calculation of $60, but the actual distribution could be lower if the fund was insufficient to pay every approved device claim at the full amount.

The $95 million settlement involved alleged unintended Siri recordings of private conversations and used case number 4:19-cv-04577-JSW. A separate 2026 lawsuit concerns delayed Apple Intelligence and Siri features. It has different allegations, eligibility requirements, deadlines, and payment procedures.
A notice about the newer case does not reopen the expired claim period for the Siri privacy settlement. Before entering personal or banking information, verify the case name and settlement website.
