Here are the specific products and price claims that were reported, with their limits—and how to judge a beauty discount before buying.
What the October offers actually were
Amazon announced Prime Big Deal Days as a 48-hour event running October 6–7, 2026. The retailer said Prime membership was required to shop its offers, and warned that prices and availability could change. The event has ended; the reported promotions below should not be treated as current prices or available offers. Amazon’s event announcement and official deal roundup identify the event and products.

“Up to” is a ceiling, not a promise that every size, listing, or shopper received that discount. The event page does not establish that any of these offers remain available after the event.
A dated cleanser price, not a live offer
NBC News Select reported the Medicube Zero Pore Clear Blue Capsule Facial Deep Cleanser at $14.90 against $20.00 on September 22, 2026. That was a dated snapshot, not a current-price guarantee or proof of a Black Friday promotion. Its report also described its own selection criteria: at least 20% off, the lowest price in at least three months, and an average rating of at least 4.0 stars from hundreds of Amazon customer reviews. Those are the outlet’s criteria for its recommendations, not universal findings about every product in a sale. Read the dated NBC News Select report.

Why these are not 21 early Black Friday deals
The retailer pages reviewed do not support a 21-item early Black Friday roundup. Ulta’s official page says its 2025 Black Friday event is over and invites shoppers to watch for its 2026 sale; it does not verify current item-level early offers. Ulta’s Black Friday page also points shoppers toward current promotions.
Sephora’s 2026 Black Friday page describes categories such as skin care, makeup, hair tools, fragrance, and bath and body, but the reviewed page copy does not list dated item-level offers. How to decide whether a beauty deal is worth buying
A discount is useful only if the exact product meets your needs and the price is genuinely competitive. Before purchasing, check the offer on the retailer’s live product page and compare like with like:
- Match the product and size. Confirm the precise formula, shade, kit contents, and quantity. A discount on a different size or variant is not a direct comparison.
- Check the price basis. A crossed-out reference price does not by itself show what the product typically costs. Amazon offers a Price History feature on product pages; use it to put a displayed reduction in context.
- Compare retailers. Check the same product and size at other sellers, including any shipping costs or membership requirements. NBC News Select named Dermstore among retailers with select beauty discounts, but its report did not establish a specific current Dermstore offer.
- Include access requirements. Amazon said Prime membership was required for its Prime Big Deal Days offers. A headline discount may not be accessible on the same terms to every shopper.
- Set a spending limit before browsing. Compare the final checkout total with your budget and the cost of buying the product when you need it. A lower price is not savings if it prompts an unnecessary purchase.
Where to look for later Black Friday offers
Ulta and Sephora maintain Black Friday pages, but the pages cited here do not establish dated product-level offers for a future sale. Check retailer listings when the event is active, and verify each product’s current price, size, availability, and terms before relying on a deal claim. Amazon’s October event has passed; its event-specific offers should not be confused with later Black Friday promotions.
