For the quarter ended July 26, 2026, the company reported $96.2 billion in revenue, including $89.0 billion from Data Center, and guided to approximately $108 billion in revenue for the following quarter. That outlook is guidance, not a reported result. The case for investing depends on how durable that demand proves to be, what it takes to deliver it, and the price paid for future earnings.
What NVIDIA’s latest results say about its growth
NVIDIA reported Q2 FY2027 results on August 26, 2026. Revenue was $96.221 billion, up 18% sequentially and 106% year over year. Data Center revenue was $89.0 billion, up 18% sequentially and 117% year over year. GAAP gross margin was 75.0%, net income was $59.688 billion, and diluted EPS was $2.46; non-GAAP diluted EPS was $2.22. These are company-reported figures. NVIDIA’s earnings release gives the full results.
The next-quarter figure is not yet a result: management’s Q3 FY2027 revenue outlook was approximately $108 billion. The Associated Press reported that Q2 non-GAAP EPS of $2.22 exceeded the FactSet consensus of $2.09 and revenue of $96.22 billion exceeded the average forecast of $92.27 billion. Those comparisons are against analyst expectations, not a separate measure of company performance. The AP account also reproduced CEO Jensen Huang’s statement: “AI has reached its inflection point. It’s doing useful work. Its tokens are productive and profitable. Now, compute is revenue.”
Growth predates the latest quarter, but the annual record also shows why margins and product transitions matter. NVIDIA reported fiscal 2026 revenue of $215.9 billion, up 65% year over year. Data Center revenue grew 68%; Gaming grew 41%, Professional Visualization 70%, and Automotive 39%. Its 10-K said gross margin declined during the transition from Hopper HGX systems to Blackwell full-scale data-center solutions and was affected by a $4.5 billion H20 excess-inventory and purchase-obligation charge. The fiscal 2026 Form 10-K describes the annual results and charge.

Is NVIDIA stock overvalued?
The available figures do not establish that NVIDIA stock is either overvalued or undervalued. A fast-growing business can still be an expensive investment if the share price already assumes even faster or longer-lasting growth; a high share price by itself does not settle the question either.
A useful valuation check needs a dated share price and a clearly specified earnings or cash-flow measure. For a price-to-earnings calculation, distinguish trailing earnings from forecast earnings, state the data source and date, and compare the result with an appropriate historical range or peers using the same definitions. A forward multiple also depends on estimates that can change. No consistently dated current multiple or comparable peer valuation is established here, so a numeric claim that NVDA is cheap, expensive, or cheaper than competitors would be unsupported.

Investors can instead ask what the current price requires: sustained demand growth, successful product ramps, strong margins, and customers able to keep funding data-center infrastructure. Those assumptions should be tested against reported results and company disclosures rather than inferred from revenue growth alone.
What are the main risks of investing in NVIDIA?
Customer data-center buildouts may be delayed
NVIDIA’s Q2 FY2027 filing says customers need land, power, buildings (or “shell”), and capital to build data centers. It describes expansion as a complex, multi-year process with regulatory, technical, and construction challenges. If these resources are delayed or unavailable, customers may postpone infrastructure projects and NVIDIA’s future revenue and financial performance could be affected. The company states: “The availability of land, power, shell, and capital is crucial to support the buildout of a full data center inclusive of NVIDIA AI infrastructure by our customers and partners, and any shortage of these or other necessary resources could impact our future revenue and financial performance.” The Q2 FY2027 Form 10-Q sets out this risk.

Supply, execution and demand estimates can change
NVIDIA reported supply constraints as it ramped next-generation systems. Its filing warns that demand estimates can be inaccurate, potentially leading to revenue or supply volatility, quality problems, inventory provisions, lower yields, higher material costs, or warranty costs. A successful product transition requires both sufficient supply and execution at scale.
Large commitments can become a burden
As of July 26, 2026, NVIDIA reported $279 billion in supply and capacity commitments, up from $119 billion the prior quarter. The company says it may be unable to reduce those commitments if demand, requirements, or plans differ from expectations. Its customers’ ability to generate revenue from AI and sustain infrastructure investment also affects future demand. The figures and qualifications appear in the Q2 FY2027 filing materials.

Export policy and product mix affect the outlook
NVIDIA’s Q2 filing says shipments of Data Center Hopper products to China were less than 1% of Data Center revenue in Q2 FY2027. That is a measure of reported exposure for that product category and quarter, not a forecast of future policy or a measure of every possible effect of export restrictions. Product mix and transition costs can also affect profitability: the fiscal 2026 H20 charge and gross-margin pressure during the Blackwell transition illustrate that strong demand does not guarantee smooth margins.
The shares can fall even if the business remains important
NVIDIA cautions in its filing that any one of its risks could harm its business, financial condition, results, or reputation and cause its stock price to decline. A stock investment can lose value, including when a company continues to grow but results or expectations fall short of what its share price implies.

What do analyst price targets say?
Analyst targets are estimates, not promised prices or intrinsic values. They reflect analysts’ assumptions and stated horizons, can be revised, and different providers may aggregate different samples or update at different times.
| Provider and date | Reported consensus | How to read it |
|---|---|---|
| StockAnalysis, updated October 6, 2026 | $328.72 average target from 61 analysts; Strong Buy consensus | StockAnalysis attributes its figures to S&P Global and TipRanks and says ratings and targets update hourly to every three days. View its forecast page. |
| MarketBeat, page accessed October 7, 2026 | $321.89 consensus target | A different aggregator snapshot; its figure need not match StockAnalysis’s sample or update timing. View its analyst forecast page. |
The snapshots are positive but not identical, and both can change. They do not establish a likely return: a target is an estimate for a horizon, not a guarantee that the share price will reach it. Do not treat consensus as a substitute for assessing assumptions, valuation, and risk.
How to decide whether NVIDIA belongs in your portfolio
Start with your own investment horizon, ability to tolerate losses, and the role a single company should play in a diversified portfolio. Then examine the business case and the price separately: results show extraordinary recent growth, while the filings describe meaningful constraints, commitments, and execution risks. A bullish view needs a reason to believe future growth and profitability can support the price; a cautious view may reflect uncertainty about infrastructure spending, supply, margins, policy, or expectations already embedded in the shares.
If comparing NVIDIA with another semiconductor or AI-infrastructure investment, use the same reporting dates and definitions for revenue and earnings growth, gross-margin direction and transition costs, valuation period, customer spending exposure, supply capacity, and geographic or policy exposure. A comparison based on unlike periods or multiples can mislead, and analyst targets do not resolve those differences.
