The November 2026 Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payment is scheduled for Friday, October 30, 27 days after October 3. November 1 falls on a Sunday, so the payment is sent early. The $994 figure is the 2026 maximum federal monthly SSI amount for an eligible individual—not a guaranteed payment, and not a standard amount for everyone receiving Social Security.
When is the November SSI payment coming?
The Social Security Administration’s 2026 payment calendar schedules the November 1 SSI payment for Friday, October 30. SSI is normally due on the first of the month. When that date falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or federal holiday, the payment is delivered early, as explained in the SSA’s SSI annual report.
That means a deposit arriving October 30 is the November SSI payment. It is not an extra October payment. The calendar date is for SSI recipients; it does not mean all Social Security beneficiaries will be paid that day.
What does the $994 amount mean?
The SSA lists $994 as the 2026 maximum monthly federal SSI payment for an eligible individual. It is a maximum, not a promised award. The SSA’s SSI payment amount information explains that countable income can reduce a payment, and living arrangements and other eligibility rules can also affect the amount. Some states provide an SSI supplement, which may increase total support.

| SSI category | 2026 maximum federal monthly amount |
|---|---|
| Eligible individual | $994 |
| Eligible couple, when both are eligible | $1,491 |
| Essential person | $498 |
These are federal maximum amounts published by the SSA for 2026; an individual’s actual payment may be lower, and state supplements are separate.
Is the $994 payment Social Security or SSI?
SSI is administered by the Social Security Administration, but it is a separate program from retirement, survivors, and Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) benefits. The headline’s $994 figure refers specifically to SSI’s maximum federal amount for an eligible individual. It should not be read as a general Social Security payment amount.

When do other Social Security beneficiaries get paid?
Many people whose Social Security benefits began after April 30, 1997 are paid on a Wednesday based on the birthday of the person whose work record determines the benefit. Other groups follow a different schedule. The SSA’s payment-date guidance distinguishes these rules:
| Recipient group | Usual payment timing |
|---|---|
| Social Security benefits began after April 30, 1997 | Second Wednesday for birthdays on the 1st–10th; third Wednesday for birthdays on the 11th–20th; fourth Wednesday for birthdays on the 21st–31st |
| Receiving or applied for benefits on or before April 30, 1997 | Generally the third of the month |
| Receiving both Social Security and SSI | Social Security generally on the third; SSI generally on the first, subject to early-payment adjustments |
| SSI only | Generally the first of the month, moved earlier when it falls on a weekend or federal holiday |
The October 30 date is the adjusted date for November SSI, not the regular payment date for people receiving only retirement, survivors, or SSDI benefits.

How to check a payment or handle a deposit that does not arrive
- Sign in to your my Social Security account to view your benefit payment schedule and payment history.
- Check the SSA’s 2026 payment calendar against the program and recipient group that apply to you.
- If your payment does not arrive on its expected date, the SSA asks recipients to allow three additional mailing days before contacting Social Security.
Why 2026 SSI amounts changed
The SSA announced a 2.8 percent cost-of-living adjustment for 2026. The increase took effect for Social Security benefits paid in January 2026 and for SSI beginning with the December 31, 2025 payment. The $994 maximum is the 2026 federal individual amount after that adjustment.
