Is Novatrades a legitimate forex broker?

- the full legal name of the company;
- its registered address;
- the regulator supervising its investment or dealing activities;
- an authorisation or licence number;
- the exact domains and brands covered by that authorisation; and
- the rules governing client-money protection, complaints and withdrawals.
If Novatrades gives only a brand name, a generic address, or a licence number that cannot be found in an official register, that is a significant warning sign. A company-registration record by itself is not a forex licence. A firm can be incorporated without being authorised to offer leveraged trading.
What I would verify before depositing
- Find the legal entity. Look at the website footer, client agreement and privacy policy. The name accepting your money should match the name in the regulatory register.
- Search the regulator directly. Use the regulator’s own website, not a link sent by a salesperson. For a UK claim, check the FCA Financial Services Register. For a US claim, check the NFA BASIC database and CFTC information. For Australia, check ASIC’s professional registers. For Cyprus, check CySEC’s investment-firm register.
- Match the domain. Regulators often list authorised websites. A genuine licence belonging to one company does not automatically cover a different domain or an unauthorised affiliate.
- Check the permission. A licence for payments, cryptocurrency, financial advice or company formation is not necessarily permission to offer retail forex CFDs.
- Read the withdrawal terms before funding. Look for processing times, fees, minimum balances, accepted payment methods and any restriction on returning money to the original funding source.
If the broker claims regulation in an offshore jurisdiction, that is not automatically proof of fraud. It does, however, usually mean fewer protections than those available from a major retail regulator. The jurisdiction matters because it determines how complaints are handled, whether compensation exists and how difficult it may be to pursue a dispute.
Warning signs that matter more than the trading platform
Fraudulent or abusive trading operations can provide a real-looking platform. They may display trades, profits and account balances that customers cannot independently verify. The following behaviour is more revealing than whether the site offers MetaTrader:

Withdrawal demands: the clearest practical test
Know-your-customer checks are normal. A regulated broker may request identification, proof of address and information about the source of funds. It may also return a deposit to the original payment method to prevent money laundering.

Those normal checks are different from being told to make a new payment before an existing balance can be withdrawn. Do not pay a supposed tax, “unlocking fee,” margin top-up, wallet-verification charge or percentage of profits simply because an agent says the withdrawal will otherwise be cancelled. A genuine tax obligation is normally dealt with through the relevant tax authority, not by sending an advance payment to a broker’s personal wallet.

- save emails, chat logs, phone numbers and payment instructions;
- record dates, amounts and the payment method used;
- do not install remote-access software for an alleged “account check”; and
- do not send more money to recover the first deposit.
What protections might be missing?
Even if Novatrades is a real company, an offshore or weakly supervised broker may not provide the protections many customers assume they have. Depending on the jurisdiction and contract, these may include:
- investor compensation if the broker fails;
- segregation of client funds;
- negative-balance protection;
- independent dispute resolution;
- limits on leverage and sales practices; and
- effective enforcement when withdrawals are disputed.
Do not infer protection from marketing language such as “secure,” “regulated,” “institutional liquidity” or “segregated accounts.” Find the specific rule and the legal entity covered by it.

- Stop sending additional funds. Do not try to pay your way out of a withdrawal problem.
- Contact the bank or card issuer immediately. Ask whether a card chargeback, bank recall or fraud report is available. Time limits can apply.
- Report the matter. Contact your national financial regulator, police or cybercrime reporting service, and the payment provider used.
- Secure your accounts. Change passwords, enable two-factor authentication and monitor bank and card activity, especially if identity documents were uploaded.
- Be wary of recovery firms. People who lost money are often targeted by a second scam promising to recover it for an upfront fee.
