What did Lotterywest say about a possible WA record?
Lotterywest acting chief executive Jeremy Hubble said the largest Division One prize taken home by a WA player in 2023 had been $40 million, won through Powerball. He also said that if a WA player took the entire $100 million jackpot the following week, it would set a new state record. That was a conditional, forward-looking comment in January 2024; it does not establish that the record was subsequently set.
PerthNow described the WA Powerball record at the time as $80 million, won in 2021 and shared by 55 women. These historical comparisons refer to the figures in the article published on 11 January 2024.
