NMDC’s FY 2025–26 interim dividend was ₹2.50 per share, with an exchange-listed ex-dividend date and record date of 13 February 2026. NMDC also recommended a separate ₹1 per-share final dividend for FY 2025–26; its notice set 5 October 2026 as the record date, conditional on shareholder approval. Check the exchange’s corporate-action listing for the final dividend’s ex-date rather than relying on a calendar entry.

Which NMDC dividend does each date refer to?

NMDC Limited may declare more than one dividend for a financial year. Each interim or final dividend is a separate corporate action, with its own amount and eligibility cutoff. Do not apply a date from one action—or from an earlier financial year—to another.

Dividend action Amount and status Record date Ex-dividend date
FY 2025–26 first interim dividend ₹2.50 per equity share; declared 3 February 2026 and paid 13 February 2026 13 February 2026, as stated in an exchange circular
FY 2025–26 final dividend ₹1 per equity share; recommended 29 May 2026, subject to shareholder approval at the ensuing AGM 5 October 2026, according to NMDC’s notice Not confirmed here by an authoritative exchange corporate-action entry

Sources: India International Exchange circular for the interim action; NMDC’s FY 2025–26 notice and reporting for the final recommendation and record date. The issuer notice supports the 5 October record date; it does not independently establish an exchange-confirmed ex-date.

What is the NMDC dividend record date?

The record date is the date the company uses to identify members entitled to a particular dividend. NMDC’s FY 2025–26 interim dividend had a record date of 13 February 2026. For its proposed FY 2025–26 final dividend, NMDC’s notice named 5 October 2026, conditional on approval at the AGM.

These dates are specific to those actions; they are not dates to use for a later dividend. Confirm the current status and any subsequent changes in NMDC’s notice and the relevant exchange corporate-action listing.

Do I qualify if I buy NMDC shares on the ex-date?

Generally, a buyer on or after the ex-dividend date should not assume they will receive the dividend associated with that corporate action. The ex-date is the exchange trading cutoff associated with entitlement, while the record date is the company’s date for identifying eligible members. The exact dates and settlement rules for the action matter.

For NMDC’s FY 2025–26 interim dividend, the exchange circular listed 13 February 2026 as both the ex-date and record date. For the FY 2025–26 final dividend, the issuer notice confirms a 5 October record date, but the ex-date should be checked against an authoritative exchange listing before making a buy-or-sell decision.

  1. Identify the exact financial year and whether the action is interim or final.
  2. Read NMDC’s notice for that dividend and its stated record date.
  3. Check the exchange corporate-action listing for the corresponding ex-date and any updates.

Is NMDC dividend taxable in India?

Dividend income is taxable in the shareholder’s hands. Tax deducted at source (TDS) is a withholding or tax-credit mechanism; it does not necessarily equal the shareholder’s final tax rate or total tax due.

NMDC’s 67th AGM notice for FY 2024–25 described withholding under the then-cited Income-tax Act, 1961 framework. It stated a 10% TDS rate for resident shareholders with a valid PAN and 20% for residents without a valid PAN, subject to other rates notified by the government. The Income Tax Department’s Section 194 text also states a 10% resident-dividend withholding rate. Because NMDC’s notice is older and tax law can change, check the law and rules applicable when the dividend is paid rather than treating those figures as universally current.

That notice described no TDS for a resident individual where the relevant total dividend expected from the company in the financial year did not exceed ₹5,000, along with qualifying Form 15G/Form 15H declarations and other prescribed lower- or nil-withholding documents. The Section 194 text specifies the threshold in its terms, including that the qualifying dividend is paid otherwise than in cash. PAN and other eligibility requirements apply; verify current requirements before relying on an exemption or declaration.

Non-resident shareholders

NMDC’s notice described withholding for non-residents under Section 195 and other applicable provisions, at 20% plus applicable surcharge and cess or notified rates. It also described the possibility of a more beneficial tax treaty rate under Section 90, subject to the shareholder’s circumstances and required documentation, including PAN, a tax residency certificate, Form 10F and declarations. The rate that applies depends on the investor’s status, documents and applicable law.

When is dividend income treated as received for tax purposes?

The Income Tax Department’s Income-tax Act, 2025 Section 7 says dividend income is treated as income in the tax year in which it is declared, distributed or paid. For interim dividends, it is treated as income in the year the amount is unconditionally made available to the entitled member. Use the rule applicable to the actual payment and tax year.

What if an NMDC dividend is unclaimed?

NMDC’s AGM notice says dividends that remain unpaid or unclaimed for seven years are transferred to the Investor Education and Protection Fund (IEPF). If a dividend or shares have moved to IEPF, the notice directs claimants to apply through Form IEPF-5 and submit the required signed physical documents to the company. Check NMDC’s current instructions, your account status and the applicable IEPF process before filing; NMDC or its registrar and transfer agent can provide assistance.
