Yes, a Nintendo Switch 2 was reported at $399.99 for Micro Center Member Pricing—but that was a deal reported on February 2, 2026, not proof of a price available at every store today. The program was described as free, but shoppers should confirm their selected store, stock, account eligibility and checkout total before counting on a sub-$400 purchase.
What the $399.99 Micro Center deal actually was
PC Guide reported on February 2, 2026, that Micro Center listed the Nintendo Switch 2 console at $449.99 and reduced it by $50 through Member Pricing, bringing the reported price to $399.99. That is a dated report of a particular offer, not a guaranteed current price or a nationwide price. PC Guide’s February 2, 2026 report described the account as free and said the promotion was available until 2027.

Micro Center’s listing describes Member Pricing as free until 2027, says shoppers must sign in with a verified account, and indicates savings apply automatically. But the program description does not establish that this console is $399.99 at every location. A current search result showed a $449.99 listing, while a location-specific result showed $399.99. How to check whether your store still has it under $400
- Select your Micro Center store. Check the console listing for the location you plan to visit; do not rely on a price result without a selected store.
- Sign in with a verified account. Micro Center says Member Pricing requires sign-in. The program is described as free until 2027, but confirm the terms shown in your account.
- Check local stock and fulfillment. Confirm whether the selected store has stock and whether pickup or shipping is available to you.
- Confirm the member price in checkout. Verify that the console itself—not a bundle or accessory—is priced below $400 before tax. Compare the checkout total, since taxes and any other charges can change what you pay.
If the price displayed for your store is $449.99 or another amount, the February report does not entitle you to the earlier price. Use the amount shown for your location at checkout.

How the deal compares with Nintendo’s US pricing
Nintendo scheduled the US MSRP for the standalone Switch 2 to rise from $449.99 to $499.99 effective September 1, 2026. Nintendo states that US prices exclude tax. That makes the earlier $399.99 Micro Center report a potentially meaningful discount if a local offer is still available, but the new MSRP does not establish Micro Center’s current price. The following prices and terms are not interchangeable: one is a historical retailer report, one is Nintendo’s standalone US MSRP, and the others are bundle offers.

What to consider before buying
- Compare the actual total. A lower listed price may not mean a lower checkout total after tax. Nintendo explicitly says its US prices exclude tax.
- Separate the console from bundles. A bundle’s higher headline price buys additional contents; it is not the standalone console price.
- Read subscription terms. The Mario Kart World bundle’s included three-month Nintendo Switch Online membership auto-renews unless canceled. Check the terms and decide whether to keep it before the initial term ends.
- Value convenience as well as price. A local in-stock option may be preferable to a lower listing you cannot purchase or collect. Confirm availability for your chosen store and fulfillment method.
