The NICL Assistant result announcement matching this headline refers to a provisional shortlist reported on February 7, 2025 for the Assistant (Class III) recruitment—not confirmation that a 2026 prelims result is out. A report dated September 27, 2026 said NICL had not confirmed the 2026 prelims result date. The status after that report is not established here, so check NICL’s recruitment page for a current official notice before relying on any result link.
Which NICL Assistant result does this headline refer to?
The February 7, 2025 Scroll report concerned a provisional shortlist for the NICL Assistant (Class III) recruitment. Scroll described that recruitment as having 500 vacancies; that is Scroll’s reported figure, not an independently verified official count.
It is separate from the 2026 prelims result. The Times of India reported on September 27, 2026 that a result date had not been confirmed at that time. That dated report is not proof of the status on October 8, 2026, or of a later release. A separate April 27, 2026 report about a 2025-26 Mains scorecard concerns a different cycle and result stage.
How to check the current result on NICL’s website
Use the official NICL recruitment page and confirm that the notice matches your recruitment cycle and exam stage. The available reports describe these lookup routes, but the current official link and instructions are not confirmed here:

- Open NICL’s official website at nationalinsurance.nic.co.in and go to Recruitment.
- Find the notice for the relevant Assistant recruitment cycle. For the 2025 report, Scroll described a section titled “RECRUITMENT OF 500 ASSISTANTS (CLASS-III).” For the 2026 cycle, The Times of India described selecting the 2026 Assistant recruitment.
- Open the result or provisional-shortlist notice and check its publication date and stage before downloading the PDF.
- If the PDF is searchable, use Ctrl+F on a computer to look for your roll number or registration number. Match the number carefully; do not rely only on a similar name.
- Follow any instructions in the official notice and save a copy for your records.
What the reported 2026 dates do—and do not—confirm
The Times of India’s September 27, 2026 report gave August 27, 2026 as the prelims date and October 30, 2026 as the scheduled Mains date. It also reported 500 vacancies for that cycle. These are dates and a vacancy count attributed to that report, not independently verified official figures. The report said the prelims result date was unconfirmed then; it does not establish whether NICL subsequently published a result.

A shortlist, scorecard and later selection notice are not interchangeable. Before treating a document as your result, verify all of the following against the official notice:
Rank #2
- Cycle: Make sure it is the recruitment year you applied for.
- Stage: Confirm whether the document is for prelims, Mains or a later selection stage.
- Notice title and date: Match these to the relevant NICL recruitment notice.
- Document type: A provisional shortlist may show eligible candidates, while a scorecard reports marks; neither should be mistaken for a final appointment notice.
If the official page does not show a notice for your cycle and stage, do not treat an older result link or a news report as confirmation of a new release.
