PerthNow’s launch coverage linked the store to FIFO convenience because of its reported longer hours and quick-meal range, but those details describe the 2023 opening—not confirmed current hours, stock or customer demand.
Where is the Perth Airport Woolworths?
The supermarket is in Dunreath Village, in Perth Airport’s Airport West precinct, which Perth Airport described as within walking distance of Redcliffe Train station. Woolworths is the centre’s anchor supermarket, alongside tenants including Priceline and Sushi Hub. Perth Airport’s opening announcement has the centre details.
Why was the store linked to FIFO workers?
In its September 2023 report, PerthNow connected the store with FIFO convenience, citing longer launch-era trading hours and a “grab and go” range that included sandwiches, cut vegetables and ready meals. The report said sushi was expected on shelves within a month of opening. Those are launch-era descriptions, not confirmation of the current range or a continuing FIFO-targeted campaign.
The coverage described a potential convenience for workers travelling to or from shifts; it did not provide measured FIFO customer numbers, sales or foot traffic. Woolworths’ then-State Director of Operations in WA, Karl Weber, said shortly before opening that the business would “wait to see what’s going to happen” rather than “necessarily trying to predict” demand.

Perth Airport’s 2023 opening announcement attributed more than 350 construction jobs and a further 200 ongoing retail jobs to the development. Separately, architecture firm Hames Sharley’s 2022 project announcement specified 3,600 square metres for the planned Woolworths and 300 car parks; those were design figures, not independently verified as-built measurements. Hames Sharley’s project announcement provides that design context.
