Scroll reported on February 16, 2024, that online applications closed that day; its January 29 explainer had given February 16 as the last date. The notice stated that the application period was 21 days from publication in Employment News, but that rule alone does not establish a specific opening date. Scroll’s February 16 report and the January 29 explainer reported the dates; the reproduced NDA employment notice stated the 21-day rule.

Eligibility depended on the post
Scroll summarized the age range as 18–25 or 18–27 years, depending on the post. It also described Class 12 as the general education threshold, with Class 10 accepted for some roles. These are broad summaries, not universal criteria: the notice set post-specific educational, age and other conditions, including age relaxations. Candidates needed to check the relevant entry in the notice rather than assume one qualification or age limit applied to all 198 vacancies. Scroll’s report provides the broad summary, while the reproduced employment notice contains the post-level conditions.
How applications and shortlisting worked
The notice instructed applicants to apply online only through ndacivrect.gov.in, keep a printout of the submitted application for reference, and not mail application printouts or certificates to the Academy. Those were instructions for the 2024 recruitment; they do not establish that the portal currently accepts applications.

Submitting an application did not guarantee an invitation to a selection test. According to the notice, shortlisting could depend on the number of applications and candidates’ qualification marks, and only shortlisted applicants would be informed. Anyone seeking a future NDA Pune civilian vacancy should look for a new employment notice and confirm its dates, post-wise qualifications, age limits and application instructions in that notice. Do not rely on the old deadline or assume the 2024 portal route is still active.
