Why the 150-post figure is not an NCL vacancy
Two Coal India subsidiaries issued separate Assistant Foreman recruitment notices in 2026. MCL advertised 150 Assistant Foreman (Electrical) (Trainee) posts. NCL advertised 270 Assistant Foreman (Trainee) posts across Electronics & Telecommunication, Mechanical and Electrical streams. The notices should not be combined as one recruitment. Are applications still open?
No. NCL’s application window ran from 11 February 2026 at 10:00 AM through 5 March 2026 at 11:59 PM. MCL’s notice set a 28 May 2026 deadline. Both dates have passed as of 8 October 2026. The available notice information does not establish whether either company later issued an extension, corrigendum or replacement notice, so check the responsible company’s official recruitment page for current status.
NCL Assistant Foreman eligibility
NCL’s notice invited Indian nationals for regular appointments at mines and establishments in Singrauli district, Madhya Pradesh, and Sonbhadra district, Uttar Pradesh. Applicants needed matriculation or an equivalent qualification plus a government-recognised diploma of at least three years in the relevant discipline. The notice gave a basic age range of 18 to 30, with category-based relaxations; 5 March 2026, the closing date, was also the eligibility reference date. Pay: basic salary versus take-home pay
The notices list monthly basic pay of ₹47,330.25 for these Assistant Foreman roles. NCL specifies the figure under NCWA-XI. Basic pay is not the same as take-home pay: allowances, deductions and other applicable benefits affect the amount ultimately received. The notices’ basic-pay figure alone does not establish a net salary.
MCL selection process for its 150 Electrical posts
MCL’s notice specifies a computer-based test (CBT) only, with no personal interview. The 100-mark test allocates 20 marks to general awareness and aptitude and 80 marks to technical knowledge. Candidates shortlisted on CBT merit are called for document verification; the schedule is to be posted on MCL’s official website.
