How qualifications differed by rank
The advertisement set different academic and experience requirements by rank. The summary below is not a substitute for the subject-specific wording and applicable rules in the notice.
Professor
The notice described an eminent-scholar route and an outstanding-professional route. Both included a relevant Ph.D. and ten years of experience. The eminent-scholar route required a substantial research record and evidence of doctoral guidance; the professional route required significant contribution supported by documentary evidence.
Associate Professor
The stated criteria included a relevant Ph.D., a master’s degree with at least 55% marks, eight years of relevant teaching or research experience, at least seven publications and a research score of 75 under the cited criteria.
Rank #3
- Children learn to enjoy math rather than fear it.
- They learn important mathematics: Math is more than formulas and mechanical procedures
- children pose and solve meaningful problems
Assistant Professor and Assistant Librarian
The general Assistant Professor route required a relevant master’s degree with at least 55% marks and NET, CSIR-NET or an accepted equivalent such as SLET/SET. The notice also described Ph.D.-based exemptions and exceptions, including for disciplines where NET/SLET/SET is not conducted. Requirements can depend on discipline and circumstances, so candidates needed to verify the exact notice and applicable rules for the post they sought.
Application dates, fee and submission requirements
Registration opened at 10:00 a.m. on 27 July 2024 and closed at 5:00 p.m. on 16 August 2024. The notice required online applications through NCERT’s website; applications submitted by other modes were not accepted.
Rank #4
- UR, OBC and EWS applicants were required to pay a non-refundable online fee of ₹1,000.
- Women applicants and applicants belonging to SC, ST or PwD categories were exempt from the fee.
- Applicants needed a valid email address and mobile number, and had to upload a recent passport-size photograph, signature and relevant documents.
- A separate application and applicable fee were required for each post when applying for more than one.
These dates and fee terms applied to this 2024 notice; they are not instructions for a current recruitment round.
