The Naoya Inoue–David Picasso fight is over, but neither boxer’s official purse has been reliably disclosed in the sources available. Published estimates differ: Sporty Salaries put Inoue at about $10 million, potentially $18 million with projected pay-per-view shares, while SalaryLeaks published estimates of $15 million guaranteed and up to $20 million with bonuses on one page—and $25 million on another. Both outlets estimated Picasso’s pay at about $2 million. These are unverified estimates, not confirmed earnings.
When the fight took place—and who won
Inoue and Alan David Picasso fought on December 27, 2025, at Mohammed Abdo Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The WBC’s December 23 preview described the bout as a defense of Inoue’s undisputed super-bantamweight championship and identified Picasso as the challenger. The WBC’s post-fight report says Inoue won and retained his 122-pound titles. WBC fight preview; WBC post-fight report

The preview listed Inoue’s record as 31-0 with 27 knockouts at that time; it is a dated pre-fight figure, not a current record. The WBC called the arena a 22,000-seat venue, but capacity does not establish ticket revenue or either boxer’s compensation. WBC preview

These numbers should not be averaged or treated as a confirmed range of contracted pay. They show what those publishers estimated, not what the fighters’ contracts or bank statements establish.
Why the figures are not interchangeable
A reported “purse” can refer to different parts of a boxer’s compensation. The estimates use labels such as guaranteed money, pay-per-view bonuses, and total potential earnings, but the available reporting does not establish the contract terms behind them.

- Guaranteed purse: A contracted amount is not established by the cited secondary estimates. SalaryLeaks labels its $15 million Inoue figure as guaranteed, but provides no primary documentation.
- Bonuses and pay-per-view participation: Sporty Salaries’ possible $18 million total and SalaryLeaks’ possible $20 million total include projected pay-per-view-related money. The sources do not establish actual event sales, a contractual revenue share, or the amount ultimately paid.
- Gross compensation versus take-home pay: No cited source establishes deductions, expenses, taxes, or other adjustments. The estimates therefore cannot be used to calculate either boxer’s net earnings.
The distinction matters most when comparing the headline numbers: one estimate may describe a base guarantee, another a projection that includes contingent bonuses, and another may not explain its calculation at all.

The sourced salary pages are secondary estimates. The available material does not include a confirming statement or document from a promoter, commission, fighter, or manager that establishes the contractual purse, bonus terms, or final take-home figures. Accordingly, the most accurate answer is that Inoue’s and Picasso’s exact earnings have not been verified by these sources.

The WBC preview said: “Provided Naoya and Junto win, the plan is still neatly and precisely in place, to match them up in the Tokyo Superdome in the coming months, for the biggest fight in Japanese history.” The surfaced passage does not identify who made that statement, so it should not be attributed to a named person. It describes a proposed event plan, not a confirmed purse or earnings detail. WBC preview
