Daily reports published June 30 showed different averages, from 6.53% to 6.675% for 30-year fixed or conforming loans, depending on the publisher and data provider. These are historical market reference points—not a single universal rate or a personal loan offer.
Mortgage rates reported for June 30, 2025
There was no single figure that represented every mortgage rate on June 30. Freddie Mac’s latest available weekly Primary Mortgage Market Survey (PMMS) reading had been published four days earlier. Separate daily reports dated June 30 used other providers and reported different loan categories or averages.
| Publisher or provider | Rate reported | What the figure represents | Timing and source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Freddie Mac | 6.77% (30-year); 5.89% (15-year) | Weekly fixed-rate averages in the PMMS archive | Reported June 26, the latest listed weekly observation before June 30. Freddie Mac’s 2025 archive |

| Zillow, as reported by Yahoo Finance | 6.53% (30-year); 5.71% (15-year) | National average fixed rates | Yahoo Finance report dated June 30. Yahoo Finance’s June 30 report |
| Mortgage Research | 6.59% (30-year fixed); 5.55% (15-year fixed); 5.98% (30-year FHA); 6.92% (30-year jumbo) | Publisher’s daily averages by loan category | Report dated June 30. Mortgage Research’s June 30 rates |
Why the reported averages differ
The figures are not interchangeable measurements of one identical loan. Freddie Mac’s numbers are weekly survey results, while the other cited reports are daily estimates from different providers. They also do not all describe the same loan category: for example, Fortune’s Optimal Blue figure is specifically for a 30-year conforming mortgage, while Mortgage Research separately lists FHA and jumbo averages.
The available reports do not provide enough shared methodology to adjust every daily figure into a directly comparable, apples-to-apples rate. When comparing a historical rate, check the observation date, publication date, provider, loan type and term, and whether the number is an average or a quote for a defined borrower.

What Freddie Mac said about rates that week
In Freddie Mac’s June 26 release, Chief Economist Sam Khater said: “Borrowers should find comfort in the stability of mortgage rates, which have only fluctuated within a narrow 15-basis point range since mid-April.” This was a comment in the June 26 release, not a statement made on June 30. What these historical rates mean for a borrower
A national or category average is not an expected rate for an individual borrower. A lender’s offer depends on the borrower and the loan scenario. Use these figures to understand the market reporting available around June 30, 2025; compare personalized offers separately rather than treating any one average as a guaranteed quote.
