MOIL Limited’s Advertisement No. GT-MGR/06/2023, dated July 26, 2023, accepted online applications through August 15, 2023. The phrase “MOIL Recruitment 2022” reflects an erroneous year in the headline for this particular drive; MOIL had a separate 2022 recruitment for a Personnel Management Trainee, which was a different notice.
What the 21-post MOIL notice advertised
MOIL Limited, a Government of India enterprise under the Ministry of Steel, advertised 21 tentative vacancies across three roles. The figures below are those printed in the July 26, 2023 notice.

The application period ran from July 26 to August 15, 2023. The last date to submit the online application with the fee was August 15, 2023; applications are no longer being accepted for this drive. The notice specified online application as the only application mode. MOIL’s official website is the place to check for current recruitment notices and any later official updates.
Eligibility for each advertised post
Graduate Trainee (Mines)
Applicants needed a BE/BTech in Mining or an equivalent qualification from a recognized university or institute, with at least 60%. During probation, the selected candidate had to provide a copy of an application to the Directorate General of Mines Safety (DGMS), along with valid gas-testing and first-aid certificates. The trainee also had to complete one year of company experience toward the specified second-class Mine Manager competency certificate under the Mines Mines Regulations (MMR), 1961.

Graduate Trainee (Mechanical)
Applicants needed a BE/BTech in Mechanical or an equivalent qualification from a recognized university or institute, with at least 60%. The notice did not specify the Mines trainee’s probation requirements for this role.
Manager (Survey)
The Manager (Survey) qualification was not a simple degree-only requirement. MOIL set out alternative combinations involving graduation, a diploma in mining, mine surveying or civil engineering, an unrestricted Surveyor’s Certificate of Competency, and experience in underground mine surveying. The experience-based route also required service in the immediate lower scale; private-sector applicants had an additional cost-to-company condition. Because eligibility depends on the specific route and its combined conditions, applicants should check the complete Advertisement No. GT-MGR/06/2023 rather than relying on a shortened summary.
Marks, age and category conditions
The notice required minimum marks of 60% for General, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) and EWS applicants, and 55% for SC/ST candidates where a post was reserved for them. If a university used CGPA or GPA, candidates had to convert it to a percentage using that institution’s formula; the notice did not permit rounding up to meet the minimum.
As of the August 15, 2023 reference date, the upper age limits for General and EWS applicants were 30 years for Graduate Trainee posts and 35 years for Manager (Survey). The notice also listed category-specific age relaxations, including for OBC-NCL, SC/ST, persons with disabilities and ex-servicemen. These are historical terms for this recruitment, not limits to apply to a later MOIL vacancy.
Historical application fee and selection process
Fee
The non-refundable fee was ₹590, including GST, for General, EWS and OBC applicants. SC/ST/PwD candidates, ex-servicemen and MOIL employees were exempt. Payment was online only. These details apply to the 2023 notice, not to a current or future recruitment.
Test and interview
Selection comprised a Computer Based Online Test followed by a personal interview for shortlisted candidates. The interview carried 15 marks, and MOIL said the final merit panel would combine test and interview marks. The notice said recruitment communications and notices would be posted on MOIL’s website and sent to registered email addresses.
