Choose Mint Mobile if keeping the price low is your priority and you can pay several months up front; choose Visible if you prefer a monthly, tax-inclusive bill and unlimited data on its base plan. The better carrier for coverage depends on whether T-Mobile or Verizon works better where you use your phone. Mint’s current introductory offer may change the price comparison, so check its terms before signing up.

Which carrier costs less?
Mint can cost less if you are comfortable paying for a term in advance and choose a data tier that fits your use. Its standard 12-month rates are $15 per month for 6GB, $20 for 17GB, $25 for 23GB, and $30 for Unlimited. Those are monthly equivalents, not month-to-month prices: you pay for the full year up front, and taxes and fees are extra. See Mint’s current plan terms.
Mint’s help page describes a promotion starting July 1, 2026: new customers can get any 3-, 6-, or 12-month plan for $15 per month for the initial term. Payment is up front, taxes and fees are extra, and the price applies only to that first plan term. Because offers can change, confirm the current terms on Mint’s promotion page before deciding. The offer is not evidence that the same price will continue at renewal.

Visible’s listed monthly prices are $25 for Visible, $35 for Visible+, and $45 for Visible+ Pro, with taxes and fees included. It also lists annual prices of $275, $375, and $450, respectively, with taxes and fees included. Check Visible’s plan page for current availability and terms.
Compare what you will actually pay
For a fair comparison, add Mint’s taxes and fees to the amount due up front, and compare the full commitment period—not just the monthly equivalent—with Visible’s tax-inclusive monthly bill. Then check the price after any Mint introductory term ends. A lower advertised monthly figure may not mean a lower total cost if you need more data, do not want to prepay, or renew at a different rate.

How do the data and hotspot plans differ?
Mint’s listed 12-month tiers include fixed monthly data allowances of 6GB, 17GB, and 23GB, plus Unlimited. On its Unlimited plan, Mint says customers who use more than 50GB in a month may notice reduced speeds during busy periods in some locations. The displayed offer also lists up to 20GB of hotspot data and SD video. Check the current plan details at Mint’s plan page.
Visible’s base plan includes unlimited data. Its plans list unlimited hotspot data, with maximum hotspot speeds of up to 5 Mbps on Visible, 10 Mbps on Visible+, and 15 Mbps on Visible+ Pro. These are plan limits, not a promise of a particular speed in every location or on every device. Current terms are on Visible’s plan page.

If your data use varies or you regularly stream and tether, Visible’s unlimited base-plan allowance may be simpler to budget for. If your typical use fits a Mint tier, that lower allowance may help keep costs down. For Mint Unlimited, account for its stated high-use network management and hotspot allowance rather than treating the plan name as unlimited high-speed hotspot data.
Which network has better coverage?
Mint uses T-Mobile’s network; Visible uses Verizon’s. Mint’s coverage page claims 5G coverage for 98% of Americans and 4G LTE coverage for 99%. Visible states that its network covers 99% of the U.S. population. These are carrier-published population claims, not independent, address-level comparisons. They do not establish which carrier will work better at your home, workplace, commute, or travel destinations.

Check each carrier’s coverage information for the specific places you rely on: Mint coverage and Visible coverage. Signal inside buildings, local network conditions, your phone, and where you travel can make the practical difference.
The carriers’ official broadband disclosures list provider-reported typical download speeds of 79–357 Mbps and latency of 17–32 ms for the Mint plan facts shown, and 20–148 Mbps and 43–85 ms for Visible’s base plan. These figures are not from a controlled head-to-head test, so they should not be read as a universal speed ranking. Conditions and actual experience vary.

Can you try the service before switching?
Mint’s free trial includes up to 250 texts, 250 voice minutes, and 250MB of 5G or 4G LTE data. It ends after seven days or sooner if you use up the allowances. Activation is through the Mint app and requires a capable device in an appropriate coverage area; see Mint’s trial terms. The allowance is limited, so it may not show how the network performs during a typical month of data use.
Mint also says qualifying full-plan purchases made directly on its website or app can be refunded within seven days of activation. Confirm eligibility and the current terms before buying at Mint’s return policy.
A current Visible trial offer was not established in the available official information. Do not assume the trial options are equivalent. Where possible, test service in your regular locations before porting your number.

What to check before you switch
- Check coverage at your actual locations. Compare home, work, commute, and frequent travel areas on Mint’s coverage page and Visible’s coverage page.
- Confirm your phone is compatible. Check that your device supports the carrier’s service and network bands before ordering or porting your number.
- Calculate the full cost. For Mint, include the up-front term payment and extra taxes and fees; for Visible, use its tax-inclusive price. Compare the renewal price as well as any introductory offer.
- Match the plan to your use. Review monthly data needs, hotspot use, and any high-use management terms on the specific plan you are considering.
- Review benefits and conditions. International features and other plan-specific benefits can change; confirm current terms with the carrier rather than assuming they match across plans.
