Minimus announced Yael Nardi as its chief business officer on 7 April 2026, assigning her a newly created role spanning growth strategy, strategic operations, corporate development and alliances. That appointment was presented as part of an expansion push. But Minimus’s current company page says it is ending operations and plans to shut down its registry on 22 October 2026, so the appointment should be understood as a past announcement—not evidence that the growth plan is still proceeding unchanged.
What Minimus said Nardi would do
In its 7 April 2026 announcement, Minimus said Nardi would lead work across four areas:
- Growth strategy
- Strategic operations
- Corporate development
- Strategic alliances
CEO Ben Bernstein described the appointment as part of an expansion effort: “We are entering a phase of aggressive expansion that requires rigorous execution and a completely new playbook.” Those were the company’s stated ambitions at the time; Minimus’s later operational announcement changes the context for reading them.
Who is Yael Nardi?
Minimus’s announcement described Nardi as having more than 15 years of experience advising startups, investors and technology corporations. The company said she had been a Director at Meitar NY Inc. and a Partner at Meitar Law Offices, and had worked on Palo Alto Networks’ acquisition of Twistlock and transactions involving Wiz, JFrog and Salesforce. These are details reported by Minimus in the appointment announcement, not independently verified here.

The release said Nardi earned an LLB from Tel Aviv University and would be based in Minimus’s New York City office. Nardi said: “I have worked with the Minimus team through some of their most critical milestones, and I know firsthand the massive potential of their technology.”
What Minimus offered—and what the announcement claimed
Minimus described its product as hardened container images built continuously from source, with security updates, software bills of materials (SBOMs), threat intelligence and security or compliance features. These are the company’s descriptions of its offering, not independent assessments of its security or compliance performance.

The announcement also claimed that teams using Minimus images and tooling could avoid “over 97% of container vulnerabilities.” The release did not provide a measurement method, baseline or independent validation for that figure, so it should be treated as a Minimus marketing claim rather than an established result.
Minimus’s planned registry shutdown
Minimus’s current About page says the company is ending operations. It states that a 60-day maintenance period began on 24 August 2026 and that the registry is scheduled to be turned off on 22 October 2026. As of 8 October 2026, that shutdown date is still presented as planned. The company says images pulled before shutdown will continue to function, but will not receive further updates.

For teams that depend on Minimus images, the practical distinction is between an image continuing to run and receiving ongoing maintenance. Before the scheduled shutdown, users should identify where Minimus images are deployed, arrange replacement images from an actively maintained source, and test the migration in their own build and deployment pipelines. A replacement should be assessed for image coverage, update and vulnerability-response practices, SBOM and provenance support, compliance evidence, migration effort and total cost.

That statement alone does not establish that Echo will continue the Minimus registry, maintain its images or take responsibility for the product.
