These are reported figures, not a confirmed fee published by the clubs. The £22.5 million headline figure is therefore best understood as a reported total that includes add-ons, rather than a publicly verified cash payment. The record description applied when the transfer took place and should not be read as a claim about the current MLS record.
What happened after the transfer?
Atlanta announced in August 2026 that Latte Lath would join Union Berlin on loan for the 2026–27 season. The deal includes an option for Union to make the transfer permanent, and Atlanta said Union would take on his full salary for the loan. Atlanta United FC

At the time of that announcement, Atlanta said Latte Lath had made 44 MLS appearances, scoring nine goals and recording three assists. Sporting director Chris Henderson said the loan followed discussions with the player and offered him an opportunity to continue his development at a club competing in a top league.

Atlanta’s contract terms at signing
When Atlanta announced the transfer in February 2025, it said Latte Lath had signed a contract through the 2028 MLS season, with a club option for 2029.
