Micron’s September 30, 2026 outlook calls for higher revenue in fiscal Q1 2027 than it reported in fiscal Q4 2026. That is an operating forecast—not a prediction of MU’s share-price return, and it does not confirm a seasonal pattern.
What the seasonal record says about Micron stock
“Fourth quarter” can mean two different things here. The historical seasonal table uses calendar Q4, October through December. Micron’s fiscal Q4 2026 ended September 3, 2026; the company reported those results on September 30. The company’s next reported period is fiscal Q1 2027. A calendar-quarter stock-return pattern and a company fiscal-quarter revenue forecast are different measures and should not be treated as the same signal.

Seasolyze’s 2026 table, which reports calendar-quarter history for 2006–2025, shows Q4 was positive in 65% of sampled years. But Q1 ranks higher on both reported average and median return. The figures below are the provider’s reported results, not an independently reconstructed return series.
| Calendar quarter | Average return | Median return | Positive years |
|---|---|---|---|
| Q1 (January–March) | 22.62% | 13.96% | 65% |
| Q2 (April–June) | 7.97% | 2.82% | 65% |
| Q3 (July–September) | 18.38% | -7.04% | 45% |
| Q4 (October–December) | 18.17% | 8.63% | 65% |
On these figures, Q4 has a positive average and tied positive-year rate with Q1 and Q2, but it did not “save” Micron’s biggest gains: Q1 had the highest average and median. The seasonal page’s displayed text does not establish whether its quarterly returns include dividends or provide enough methodological detail to audit the calculations. Treat its percentages as a historical summary from that provider, not a promise about any future quarter.

Why other seasonality figures may differ
Seasonality results depend on the period measured and the calculation method. Seasonality Lab’s 2026 page uses a shorter 2016–2025 monthly window and says its history is split- and dividend-adjusted. It calculates monthly returns from adjusted closes on the first and last trading day of each month and excludes extreme data-glitch months. It reports May as its strongest average month in that window, at +8.4%, with positive returns in 80% of sampled years.
That monthly result is a cross-check on a different question, not a direct validation of Seasolyze’s calendar-quarter table: the sample length, time interval, and stated return treatment differ. Seasonality Lab also cautions that past seasonality describes history and does not predict future returns. Neither table establishes that Micron shares are likely to rise in calendar Q4 2026.

What Micron reported and what it forecast
In its September 30, 2026 release, Micron reported fiscal Q4 2026 revenue of $54.229 billion, up from $41.46 billion in fiscal Q3 2026 and $11.32 billion in fiscal Q4 2025. Fiscal Q4 GAAP net income was $37.70 billion, with GAAP diluted EPS of $32.87. On a non-GAAP basis, net income was $38.40 billion and diluted EPS was $33.42; those accounting measures are separate and should not be mixed.

For full-year fiscal 2026, Micron reported revenue of $133.19 billion, compared with $37.38 billion in fiscal 2025. For fiscal Q1 2027, the company’s guidance was:
Rank #3
- Revenue: $61.5 billion, plus or minus $1.5 billion.
- Gross margin: approximately 85.95% GAAP and 86.25% non-GAAP.
- Diluted EPS: $37.84, plus or minus $1.00, GAAP; $38.15, plus or minus $1.00, non-GAAP.
The revenue-guidance midpoint is about 13.4% above the reported fiscal Q4 revenue. That is a calculation from the company’s figures, not a separate forecast from Micron. Revenue and earnings guidance describe expected business results; they do not say what the stock will return. Micron’s release states that forward-looking statements are subject to risks and uncertainties that could cause actual results to differ materially. Its non-GAAP measures exclude specified items, so compare them only with similarly labeled non-GAAP figures.
How the prior quarter’s guidance turned out
On June 24, 2026, Micron had guided fiscal Q4 revenue to $50.0 billion, plus or minus $1.0 billion. The subsequently reported $54.229 billion came in above the top of that range. This is a concrete example of the difference between a forecast and a realized result; one quarter does not establish a repeatable forecasting accuracy or say whether the stock will rise in the next period.

What management said—and what it does not prove
Micron Chairman and CEO Sanjay Mehrotra said in the September 30 release, “Micron delivered record fiscal 2026 results, and we expect an even stronger fiscal 2027.” He also described AI as becoming “Super Intelligence (SI)” and said memory enhances that intelligence and customers’ platform competitiveness. The release cites increased investment in technology, products, and manufacturing, as well as Strategic Customer Agreements, as part of management’s outlook.
These are management’s statements and framing, not independent confirmation that forecast results will materialize or that MU shares will appreciate. Investors weighing the outlook against the seasonal record should keep three items separate: historical share returns, company forecasts for revenue and earnings, and the market price investors pay for the stock.
