Applying to take MHT-CET and registering later for centralized admissions (CAP) were different steps. Engineering eligibility depended on course and candidature
The Government of Maharashtra’s engineering admission brochure applies to the 2023–24 academic cycle and sets out eligibility by course and candidature category. Its Maharashtra State engineering candidature example required candidates to meet the specified HSC subject requirements, appear in all MHT-CET 2023 subjects, and obtain a non-zero MHT-CET score. For the specified subjects, the brochure gives a 45% marks criterion, reduced to 40% for the listed Maharashtra reserved categories, EWS and persons with disability.
