On April 29, 2025, cryptocurrency exchange MEXC marked its seventh anniversary by saying its global user base had reached 36 million. The company also reported sharp year-over-year growth in spot and futures trading volume, alongside figures for listings, customer support and rewards. These are historical claims from MEXC’s own announcement—not independently audited metrics or a verified count of its users today.
What MEXC reported for its seventh anniversary
MEXC’s April 29, 2025 announcement framed the company’s seventh year as a period of rapid expansion. It reported the following operating and promotional figures:

All figures in the table are MEXC’s reported numbers, not independently verified results. The announcement does not publish underlying datasets for its user, trading-volume, staffing, support or recovery statistics. It also does not explain how it valued the airdrop prize pool or provide distribution records. The figures describe what the company chose to highlight at the time.
How to read the trading-volume and market-share claims
The reported 143% increase in spot volume and 118% increase in futures volume are year-over-year growth claims from MEXC. They describe changes in trading activity, not user returns, exchange revenue or proof that an individual customer will have better trading outcomes.

MEXC’s announcement also said its market share rose from 2.4% in 2023 to 11.6% in 2024 and 13.06% in the first quarter of 2025. It further said CoinGecko’s Q1 2025 report placed MEXC third in futures trading volume. These are claims as presented by MEXC; the available details do not establish that they use the same calculation as other market-share reports.
TokenInsight’s Q1 2025 exchange report uses a distinct measure: it puts MEXC’s average derivatives market share at 12.5% for Q1 2025, up from 8.2% in Q4 2024, and reports an 11.1% quarter-end figure. The report describes the increase in the quarterly average as the largest quarterly increase among the exchanges it reviewed. An average across a quarter and a quarter-end reading are different measurements, so neither should be substituted for MEXC’s 13.06% announcement figure without matching the underlying definitions.

For the full year, TokenInsight’s 2024 annual report, published May 13, 2025, says MEXC’s market share rose by approximately 9% over 2024. That is TokenInsight’s calculation, and its top-ten comparison does not cover all exchange trading volume. Market-share figures can differ with the exchange sample, trading segment, time period and whether the reported value is an average or a point-in-time reading.

The announcement offers a snapshot of the scale and growth MEXC wanted to emphasize in 2025. A larger reported user base, more listed assets or higher trading volume does not by itself establish that an exchange is suitable for a particular person, that its figures were independently audited, or that it is safe to trade on. Those are separate questions that require evidence beyond an anniversary release.

For personal-finance decisions, treat the 36 million figure and other operating metrics as historical company-reported claims dated April 29, 2025. They should not be quoted as current MEXC figures without newer verification. When assessing market-share claims, check who published the number, what kind of trading it covers, which exchanges were counted and what period the calculation represents.
