Short answer: MEXC announced its AI Consultant on January 6, 2026, describing an exchange-integrated tool that analyzes a user’s portfolio, summarizes market news, suggests rebalancing approaches, and sends market alerts. What MEXC announced
MEXC announced the AI Consultant from Victoria, Seychelles, on January 6, 2026. The company positions it as a personalized digital-asset management and decision-support layer inside its exchange, rather than as a separate financial-advisory firm. Its launch release says the feature connects to a user’s portfolio data and combines portfolio analysis, market information, technical analysis, macroeconomic context, news interpretation, and alerts.
MEXC said the feature was live at launch and could be activated in the MEXC app or on the official website. However, the announcement does not say whether “live” meant access for every account worldwide or a phased rollout. How the AI Consultant is supposed to work
Portfolio structure diagnosis
MEXC says the Consultant continuously scans a portfolio and produces reports that identify allocation risks or inefficiencies. Its example uses a hypothetical 100,000 USDT portfolio containing 50% USDT, 36% BTC, 10% ETH, and 4% MX. The company says the tool might describe that mix as having excessive idle capital and an overly conservative allocation.
That is an illustration, not a universal suitability judgment. A large stablecoin balance can be intentional—for liquidity, a planned purchase, lower volatility, or an investor’s risk tolerance. Whether an allocation is appropriate depends on time horizon, cash needs, tax circumstances, jurisdiction, and objectives, none of which the example establishes.

Portfolio strategy construction
According to MEXC, the Consultant combines macroeconomic analysis and technical indicators to generate rebalancing strategies. The release gives an illustrative scenario involving a 30% ETH allocation within a specified price range, alongside take-profit and stop-loss mechanisms.
MEXC does not disclose which indicators it uses, how a price range is calculated, whether a user’s stated risk profile affects the result, or whether the tool accounts for fees, spreads, liquidity, taxes, leverage, or slippage. The 30% ETH scenario is not a standing recommendation and is not evidence of a profitable strategy. The announcement also does not establish that the system places orders automatically; it may simply describe suggested risk controls for a user to implement.

Monitoring, news and alerts
MEXC says the Consultant monitors portfolio movements and market signals around the clock, identifies the three most influential daily news developments affecting held assets, and can alert users when predefined buy or sell thresholds are reached or when major events may affect a strategy.
Monitoring and notification are different from prediction or execution. “24/7” does not guarantee that an alert arrives before a price move, during an outage, or in every market. News can be duplicated, incomplete, manipulated, or wrong, and a summary can misjudge how an event affects a particular token.

How to activate it
- Log in to the MEXC app or the official website.
- Open the personal assets page.
- Use the activation control for the AI Consultant; MEXC describes this as a single-click activation.
Those are the only interface directions in the launch announcement. Menu labels can change, and the release does not confirm that the feature appears for every account, country, asset type, or app version. Check the current MEXC interface and applicable regional terms before relying on this path.

Questions to answer before using it
Data and privacy
- Does it see only MEXC balances, or connected wallets and external accounts too?
- Are portfolio histories stored, shared with vendors, or used for model improvement?
- Can you delete analysis history or opt out of processing?
- Which market-data and news sources supply the outputs?
- What security controls protect balances, positions, and alerts?
The launch release answers none of these. Review MEXC’s current privacy policy and product documentation rather than assuming that exchange access explains how AI data is retained or used.

Recommendation quality
- Does the system use a stated risk tolerance or infer risk from current holdings?
- Does it account for correlated-token concentration, liquidity, fees, taxes, and withdrawal restrictions?
- Can you see the indicators, data timestamp, assumptions, and reasoning behind a suggestion?
- Does it distinguish confirmed facts from forecasts and scenarios?
- How does it handle stale, contradictory, missing, or manipulated data?
Execution and controls
- Are recommendations advisory only, with approval required for every order?
- Are spot, margin, futures, and leveraged positions treated differently?
- Can thresholds be customized, and what happens if an alert fires during an outage?
- Does a suggested stop-loss become a live order, and how are gaps and slippage handled?
- Does the tool explain liquidation risk in leveraged markets?
Who may find it useful
Newer investors
MEXC says structured analysis may reduce emotional decisions and shorten the learning curve. The opposite risk is automation bias: a confident-looking answer can be mistaken for expertise. Beginners should verify basic concepts, read the assumptions, and avoid trading solely because an AI recommends a percentage or price level.
Active traders
News filtering and threshold alerts may reduce information overload. Traders who already use specialist charting, portfolio, and alerting systems may gain convenience but should compare timestamps, data coverage, and latency rather than assume the exchange tool is superior.
Long-term or multi-platform investors
Short-term technical signals may be less relevant to a long-term plan. If holdings sit in other exchanges, wallets, funds, or offline custody, an MEXC-only view can be materially incomplete. Investors with tax, estate, debt, or liability questions need a qualified human professional, not an exchange-generated suggestion.
Risks and failure modes
- False signals: Indicators can fail during crashes, liquidations, thin liquidity, listings, delistings, stablecoin depegs, regulatory announcements, or pricing-data failures.
- Incomplete news: A three-item digest can omit primary documents or misread a story’s relevance. Check project announcements, exchange notices, filings where applicable, and reputable reporting.
- Execution loss: A stop-loss trigger is not a guaranteed fill price; fast markets can produce materially worse execution. A suggestion is not an order.
- Cash misclassification: Calling stablecoins “idle” may conflict with a deliberate liquidity plan.
- Exchange concentration: Relying on one venue concentrates custody, data, and trading decisions. An exchange that provides trading services may also benefit from increased activity; that is a structural conflict to consider, not an allegation of misconduct.
- Availability uncertainty: The release does not confirm access for US residents, every MEXC-served country, verified and unverified accounts, or every spot, margin, and futures asset.

MEXC’s January 2026 launch is a meaningful example of an exchange embedding AI into portfolio analysis, news monitoring, strategy suggestions, and alerts. It is not public evidence that the system predicts prices, outperforms advisers, executes trades automatically, or supplies regulated personal advice. Confirm access, privacy terms, data coverage, fees, and execution behavior in the live product, and use independent research or qualified advice before making consequential crypto decisions.
