The six Memorial Day sales in this headline were reported on May 12, 2025, ahead of the May 26 holiday. They are historical offers, not deals verified as available now: Memorial Day 2026 fell on May 25 and has also passed. The roundup named Lowe’s, Amazon, Home Depot, Best Buy, Walmart and Target; its reported discounts and prices should not be treated as current savings.
What the six sales offered in May 2025
TechRadar’s May 12, 2025 roundup described retailer promotions across patio and outdoor products, appliances, grills, tools and TVs. The figures below are claims from that dated article, not independently verified prices or a comparison of individual products.
| Retailer and sale | Categories described | Offer reported on May 12, 2025 |
|---|---|---|
| Lowe’s Members Week | Grills, major appliances, tools, patio furniture and other items | Up to 40% off, according to the May 12, 2025 TechRadar article. |
| Amazon pre-summer sale | Vacuums, tablets, mattresses, kitchen appliances, outdoor play items and TVs | No specific discount figure stated in the May 12, 2025 article. |
| Home Depot Super Savings | Appliances, furniture, grills, decor and outdoor tools | Up to $400 off, with free delivery on qualifying items, as reported May 12, 2025. The article did not specify qualifying-item terms. |
| Best Buy TV sale | 4K, QLED and OLED televisions | Big-screen televisions from $349.99, as reported May 12, 2025. |
| Walmart flash sale | Patio furniture, mattresses, appliances, outdoor toys, blenders, iced coffee makers, luggage and lawnmowers | Up to 45% off, according to the May 12, 2025 article. |
| Target summer sale | Patio furniture, planters, gardening tools, inflatable pools, decor and outdoor games | Up to 40% off outdoor essentials, as reported May 12, 2025. |
These were editorial descriptions of sale events, not evidence that every product in a category received the advertised maximum discount. The roundup did not establish today’s prices, current availability, or whether any offer is still active.
Why the headline is no longer a current shopping guide
“Memorial Day is 2 weeks away” was accurate for the original article’s May 2025 publication context. It is not a current countdown: the 2025 holiday and the 2026 holiday have both passed as of October 8, 2026. A 2026 roundup also covered promotions around that year’s holiday period, but it does not establish which deals are available in October.

The original author, Mackenzie Frazier, described her choices as the six sales she thought worth shopping at the time. That is her editorial selection, not an independent ranking or proof that each offer represented the best price available.
How to judge a future sale before spending
A large advertised discount alone does not show whether a purchase is a good value. When evaluating a new offer, check the specific item and terms rather than relying on a broad retailer promotion:

- Confirm the exact product and current price. A category-wide sale does not mean every item is discounted by the maximum advertised amount.
- Compare against a credible recent price history. A discount percentage without a useful comparison price can be misleading; the 2025 roundup does not provide independent price-history evidence.
- Read delivery and qualification terms. The 2025 Home Depot description mentioned free delivery only for qualifying items, without specifying the terms.
- Check the sale end date and availability. A past promotion, or an undated offer description, is not confirmation that a deal remains live.
For an October 2026 purchase, the reviewed reporting does not establish a current deal list at any of the six retailers. Verify the item, price, retailer terms and end date directly before treating an offer as active.
