Application dates and eligibility
MDL scheduled online applications from November 25 through December 16, 2024. The December 16 date in the original headline was the closing date for that 2024 recruitment, not an upcoming deadline. A contemporaneous summary also reported the notice as an application opportunity ending December 16, 2024: Scroll.in, November 28, 2024.

The minimum age was 18. The ordinary upper age limit was 38 as of November 1, 2024; for Master Ist Class and Licence to Act Engineer, it was 48. Category-specific relaxations also applied. These figures should not be treated as a single eligibility rule for every applicant: the advertisement sets post- and category-specific conditions.
There was no universal education or experience requirement across the 234 vacancies. Qualifying qualifications and other criteria varied by post, so the official advertisement is the source to consult for the requirements attached to a particular trade.

The selection process comprised a written examination and a trade/skill test. Candidates had to qualify each stage. Document scrutiny was conducted for shortlisted candidates at the trade/skill-test stage.
The processing fee was Rs 354 for General, OBC and EWS applicants. The notice exempted applicants in the SC, ST and PwD categories, as well as ex-servicemen.

The advertisement listed these scales. It also stated that industrial DA, HRA, CPF and other allowances were governed by company rules; the figures below are the stated pay scales, not a complete estimate of take-home pay.

For a future or separate MDL vacancy, verify the active advertisement and its exact post-level terms rather than relying on this closed notice. MDL cautioned in the 2024 advertisement: “Mere Generation of registration number does not imply acceptance of application or eligibility for the post.”
